Is RP/demand/pirate act possible if target refuses to stop? - The Joker - 12-02-2009 How can ANYONE RP/demand/pirate if target doesn't stops... after he/she has been told numerous times to stop with "Hold it, sonny." (not just "halt/stop")? Let's not neglect that you're being chased by lawful guy who's shooting at you and you just don't have time to do anything except to destroy RP-mood spoiling trader. Is RP/demand/pirate act possible if target refuses to stop? - ProwlerPC - 12-02-2009 I was gonna post this in that sanction thread: I'm gonna risk the fine, or because I'm pretty broke the loss of a ship. But I'll help you with a little guidance since I play my Gaian as a terrorist and I have Wilde char. Joker you, unfortunately, got pulled into this by what we call the "silent trader" that ignores the pirates (albeit an insult or two maybe). These are moments when you can find your prey constantly trying to take off while you are typing your demand. Always have a preset demand message above all else when being a "terrorist". When you encounter the "silent trader" quickly pop off the demand while his engines are powering up for cruise, if he doesn't cut it proceed with taking out shields then engines. Keep him alive after and stay nearby with CDs, should have ample time to make him listen to whatever you have to say without F1ng and crawling back to a station. Is RP/demand/pirate act possible if target refuses to stop? - Aoyagi - 12-02-2009 Well, what I do is "Look, either you stop moving or your pretty ship will suddenly explode. Your call" or something like that. That is a demand. Is RP/demand/pirate act possible if target refuses to stop? - mwerte - 12-02-2009 Ritsuka, not according to the rules it's not. It HAS to be a monetary demand. Credits or cargo. Take the ship down to 20% hull, fine, destroy it without said credit or cargo demand, not fine. I've done it for years (before preset messages) in a bomber, with Wilde NPCs (they hurt) swarming me, you can do it with Liberty NPCs and a gunboat. I believe in you. If this turns into another discussion about that particular sanction then I will be rather upset. Addendum: This topic has been done to death, use the search function. Is RP/demand/pirate act possible if target refuses to stop? - AJBeast - 12-02-2009 I still think that that rule is easily open to abuse and sanction-baiting, i.e. guy sees pirate; guy tries to flee from pirate, keeping his mouth shut; guy gets blown to pieces by pirate; pirate gets sanctioned. I would absolutely love to see what this rule was based on, 'cause I can't honestly see where it came from. Is RP/demand/pirate act possible if target refuses to stop? - Sprolf - 12-02-2009 Throw a demand in there instead of telling him to halt, and then proceed to blast him to pieces. If you're in a gunboat, he'll certainly have ample time to obey your demands. Gunboats take a little while to destroy a transport. He'll have enough time to reply to you if he is actually interested in roleplaying. If not, he'll be spacedust soon enough. Is RP/demand/pirate act possible if target refuses to stop? - mwerte - 12-02-2009 AJ, it's based on a concept of fairplay, before this was put in place there were packs of 'pirates' going around blowing traders up without a word, no fun at all and detrimental to the server. "2mil or die" is all that is needed, anyone can type that in the time it takes for cruise engines to charge up. Is RP/demand/pirate act possible if target refuses to stop? - ryoken - 12-02-2009 I agree. The rule does state you can fire away, and drop sield's,and most armour, and then demand payment. So if he keep's trying to run,and stay's quiet? fire away until he is hurting bad,and keep disrupting him. Sooner or later he will get the point, and take some screen's of you demanding payment, and him trying to cruise away,so you are sanction safe. I pirated for over a year with OPG, and not me, nor any in my attack party's ever had a sanction issue. Heck after 1 transport got hit by us 3 time's in 1 night(kept coming back with VIP's to Crete) he tried to offer OPG a 100mil, 1 month do not kill me pass. Point is you must speak before shooting, and taking a screen of it,is just sanction insurance. The transport can keep silent, and run all he want's(not fun, or good RP) it is his option. Is RP/demand/pirate act possible if target refuses to stop? - The Joker - 12-02-2009 The point is... The Joker's RP really need people to stop cuz he's not after the money, it requires some time, he leaves people 2 choises: 1. Drop 25% of cargo and destroy it. I wanna watch it burn. Burn I say! 2. Drop 10% of cargo but kill half of your crew. (option I only use when I meet good RPers) 3. Die. You can't place that demand to people in a hurry. And you can't place that demand when you're being fired at the same time as well by another GB. I'm not letting anyone go to certain station but I really don't want any cargo or credits. I just send them somewhere else. So if I'd stick to this rule I couldn't do a thing if the trader decides to ignore me (which happens mostly, of course) |
