Well, I like my Outcast Destroyer. I want another cruiser. Not a Carrier, Battlecruiser or Battleship. I don't have the patience. Anyway, I was thinking, instead of a Military Cruiser, I retrofit it to be a kind of.. Mini-mobile Freeport. Think FP 18, fun-sized.
It would be operated by AI, but it wouldn't be an AI cruiser. It would carry food, water, H-fuel, and Ship Hull Panels to give out to pilots, as well as a store of Bats/Bots. Think Shagohad's EXJ-Mare.Nostrum. A complex, almost emotional AI that holds human interests as a top priority.
What would be most suited to this? Don't say the Corvo. If there are no logical alternatives, I will use it, but I'd prefer not to fly a Zoner Ship.

Freeport cruiser makes me say Corvo, but you've established that's not what you want...
Unfortunately, there are no other "non-militarized" cruisers. The Rheinland Pirate Cruiser is basically an obsolete Red Hessian cruiser and not really what you want, and the Zoner Fearless is not only Zoner (which you said you would prefer otherwise) but also a combat ship for Freeport defense and Nomad encounters. The Corvo and Fearless are really the only ships that fit.

You could retrofit one of the larger cruisers, I suppose.
Rheinland or Bretonian, for example.

Mwuh. I intend to make this Sirius-wide, operating from Delta to New London. I'd like for it to be able to combat pirates, because it's essentially a goodwill-bearing robot. However, I'd need a Zoner Guard ID to go along with the cruiser, so I would not be able to attack pirates.
EDIT: Virus, that's actually a feasible option. I'll take a look at Rheinland and Bretonian Cruisers. Then I'll ask the faction leaders if I could get my hands on one. Thanks!
EDIT2: I have decided upon the Rheinland Cruiser. I don't like the look of the Bretonian Dessie. Too spider-like. My question is: Since I've got Building Better Robots stationed on Cambridge, would it be possible, via Special RP request, to have it Bretonia Intelligence Service ID'd? It doesn't allow Cruisers. However, it fits much closer to this unit's RP than a Rheinland Military Guard ID/IFF does.
EDIT 3: For the sake of this making sense, I've moved BBR to Stuttgart. Because RM wouldn't realistically give a warship to a Bretonian scientific group.
(Another)EDIT: To clarify, I just don't want it to be RM Guard IFF'd/ID'd, because it's a more scientific/Good Samaritan ship than war vessel. I realize Liberty would have to be avoided unless ordered to join an attack squad by a RM officer.

Well getting a SR of this type, would give you a Special Operative ID... so you would obey the rules of an IFF.
And Kusari would hate you, and you'd be outlawed in Liberty for the Rheinland ship. :/

If the RM declines my request, I will go with the Corvo. So I hope that the Admirals agree to my request.

EDIT: So many edits... Anyway, I've been looking at IDs, and I'm thinking that the Special Op ID or Daumann ID would be best. I'd have the RM Guard IFF, but that's only because there's no Rheinland Science Group.
Daumann would be a good choice, because it's not official Military, and because it can hunt indie pirates at will, which is part of this unit's job.

Well, if all else fails, I suggest the Order Recon Cruiser? It might be small, but it may fit the role a little (if all else fails)

Well, Order caps are already quite over-used. I think everyone would be Happier if I either went House or Zoner.

My heart always starts bleeding if I see house military ships not beeing used by their military.
Somehow whatever you do, it leaves you with the feeling "That one belongs to Military X"
Looking at it via the RP, it somehow raises always the question why the Military would hand out one of their big warships.
A Fighter or Bomber can be given away under certain circumstances, but still looking odd.
On the other hand discovery lacks ships of the size Corsair wants to use for his idea.
Awww, I hate such requests.
Convince me somehow that it will not ever look odd flying a Rheinland Cruiser for your AI idea!:haha:
Ill sleep over it now, currently everything looks odd to a tired man.

Quck EDIT: After brushing my teeth it was already obvious. Come up with a story the community likes and I am the last person raising my hand and shouting "No Cruiser for you". Well, unless people do not complain about your shiny new cruiser once meeting you ingame. *laughs*

EDIT: So, I've began the first of several entries of AAAI's history. When I'll continue to add to it until I allocate 250 million credits and have reached the point of the story that I can call it complete and re-request the RMC. Thread
EDIT 2: I've modified the Comm. Channel thread so that I want a Science Cruiser, not a Military Cruiser. Though this is only a roleplay change, I hope that it quells some disapprovals.
