Sabre Weapon Systems - Eppy - 06-12-2007
It was brought up in a different thread that the Saber's weapon arrangements were a bit unsatisfactory. I actually agree, and would like the good people of Discovery to post their recommendations here. The admins, of course, have the final say.
Personally, I would like to see the two Level Ten hardpoints on the hull moved to the lower wings, and the Level Nine's there booted up to the hull. Or, we could just boot the L9 hardpoints up to Level Ten. Might cause some balance issues, so I'll stick with the moving.
EDIT: Alert, disregard the stupid poll. If one of the Mods could somehow fix that, it would be much appreciated. I can't figure it out.

I personally think it needs a slight upgrade in agility. Not as much as an Eagle.. Definitely not. But the Titan turns just as well as the Sabre now, with more armor. So a bit extra agility and some energy upgrading would be best.
Though I'm not sure the victims of my Bundschuh would agree that its weapon systems need an upgrade..

My problem is the actual weapon Hardpionts they are too spread out verticaly for my preferances. Regarless the Saber needs somthing to give it a better edge.
I Remeber that I was flying against an Avenger and was so outclasses that eventhough the pilot did not have class 10 or 9 guns I couldn't kill him.

There is a problem with your poll but I will voice my opinion here.
The Sabre could use an agility upgrade to make it a bit fast like Dab said. I bet it would be a more effective ship and more along the lines of what it used to be instead of a toned-down slow and heavy ship it is now.

Oh my god, people actually agree it needs an agility/powerplant upgrade! I didn't even bother asking, I was so sure I'd get shot down. Yes, please, upgrade.
What I meant with the HP problem is that the hull-mounted guns are about two or three meters forward of the upper-wing guns, which causes the shots to arrive at slightly different times. This doesn't natter as much, as most still get there, but more importantly, and because I'm obsessed with my pretty purple Coded guns, I can't get an effective spread. By this I mean that, mounting four of the same L10 gun, I only have a single line of fire. If I can mount my Iron Hammers on the upper and lower wing hardpoints, I can get a box of fire. Three-dimensional spread over a 2D, the former having, just based on positioning, a better probability of hitting by several orders of magnitude than the 2D spread.

well...hard point places might be fixed a bit...maybe even very slight speed upgrade...but just keep in mind that if i am not mistaken, sabre is only vanilla VFH who has forward firing turret...it gives it some more punch after all..
