Knights of Saint John Faction Document - Elrainn - 12-13-2009

Introduction


The Knights of Saint John are an extremely old elite organization that dates back to the days of the Sol System. Prieviously called the Knights Hospitaller, The Knights of Saint John are the remnants of the Italian Priory that was established on the planet Earth, during the Alliance-Coalition War, the Knights of Saint John, as ordered to do so by the Roman Catholic Church, fought alongside the Western Alliance, slowly each Priory was wiped out by the Coalition, until only the Italian Priory remained. Of the Italians that made it onto the Hispania Sleeper Ship, fifteen people were members of the Knights. When the Corsairs abandoned the Outcasts on the Sleeper Ship, The Knights stayed alongside their Italian Brethren. Slowly as the Sleeper Ship drifted towards Planet Malta (Which they played a key role in naming after their most familliar homeland on Earth) The So called "Spirits" Or Angels, That slowly helped them drift towards the planet, were percieved as tricks of the devil, or demons. However the majority of the people saw them as their Guardian Spirits. When they arrived on Malta, all members along with believers of the TRUE Faith, not only established the National Outcast Catholic Church, but also the newly formed order of the Knights of Saint John.

Present

Today, The Knights of Saint John is a Sprawling Millitary force that conists of about Five Thousand Men-at-arms, and about One Thousand-Four Hundred Knights. They Currently serve the Outcast Catholic Church aswell as the Outcast Commonwealth by converting non-believer's or killing the un-enlightened inhabitanats of the Sirius sector, they currently run several toll collecting operations and supply gathering operations within the Tau's near the Omicrons, the Knights of Saint John Currently own a small plantation on Planet Malta, where the slaves aen't in quite such harsh conditions, but slaves none the less. They also spread Cardamine to enlighten the populace of Sirius into the Liberty House, unlike most Outcasts, their goals don't include profit or control, but they merely wish to spread their beliefs and enlighten the populace via Cardamine. Many Knights have shown an increasing interest in the Bretonian and Kusarian Houses, Thier leader Alexial Vargas, is planning on calling in the Knights Council for a vote on whether or not they should relocate to Bretonia and assist the losing force in the protection of thier territory.

I approve.
I've always been a very big fan of the Outcasts' religious aspect, but until now, everyone has really downplayed it. The inclusion of the vanilla-contrary idea that the Outcasts worship the Nomads has also not helped this...

I did, a few months ago, roleplay an Outcast known only as Padre... His story was quite different, and he was perhaps more radical than the KoSJ, but it was definitely on the same lines. This genre of Outcast roleplay is the only I've ever explored in Discovery. I really loved the Outcasts in Vanilla, but now I don't really like them...

I'm delighted to see an Outcast group actually basing t itself off of the Catholic aspect of the Outcast culture. I'm also glad to see that you don't put much stock in the whole silly Nomad story. Hopefully you can be a force to take the Nomad-nonaggression-clause off the Outcast ID.



And, about the document itself - looks good. It's simple, makes sense, and tells me what I need to know. I think you guys will go far.

Good day Elrainn... Lets keep this objective ok?...... good..


The story, Roleplay and the idea is good, its well written, no obvious grammar errors and the ranks/ship list is just SPLENDID. Wish all factions did like that...


But, tho the idea is good, the roleplay is good, the activity is -not- good. As of the last 2-3 weeks ive seen just 2 others then yourself being online... and at most ive seen 2 KoSJ tagged ships at the same time...

after all, with just 5 members its easy to have straight and perfect roleplay, but it fails regarding the fact that your so few with so many ranks. Id like to see more KoSJ, but i fear the roleplay conscept is for the few and "special", as it is standing out from any other Outcast faction roleplay.


I wish you good luck tho, maybe you will succeed but as of now your more of a "buddy group with RP"

Knights of Saint John Faction Document - Sarawr!? - 12-13-2009

I'm actually really impressed with this and feel for the most part the same as Sprolf, heck a few months back I toyed with the idea of taking a Luxury Liner or something and aligning it to the Outcasts and turning into a Vatican of sorts, just because I thought it would be interesting. (The idea didn't really pan out though)

It's nice to see somebody reviving a piece which was originally vanilla but seemed to have been forgotten.

I think the group will go far as well, so long as people are interested in it.

I myself would probably be interested if I weren't leaving for a month come tuesday.
