Is it possible to play Freelancer at laptop with 1280 x 800 pixel sized monitor?

I don't think the issue is the screen... usually laptop have graphic cards with not enough memory. You should just try install it and check.

No but problem is that Freelancer have only 2 sizes 800x600 and 1024x768 and my laptop have 1280x800 so I don't have Freelancer at whole screen.

There won't be any problems in doing that. Just add -d1280x800 to your Freelancer discovery shortcut. That won't work on Vanilla Freelancer though, only with the Discovery mod activated and updated with at least update 1.

I am mostly playing on a Aspire One netbook with 1024x600 resolution, and have also played Freelancer Discovery on an old Dell Latitude C600 at 1024x768 without any problems.

Freelancer's graphics engine runs fine on older hardware. All current (as in made the last 4 years) laptops have far greater graphics capability than the machines available at the time Freelancer was released.

The Dell laptop mentioned above, only has 8 MB graphics memory, and runs Freelancer fine. It just can't cope with all the bells and whistles turned on in the eyecandy configuration, but it works.

Well, I play with a labtop, with a monitor exaclty the same size and I have no problems at all runing Freelancer, skype and windows media player. Although I need to close WMP when pvping since it cause a lil' bit more lag.

But on a crappy labtop like yours, you should be fine, just turn down the graphics to render it playable.

I use -dx

-dx sets resolution in game to your desktop resolution nice thing.. But if you got it working that way good i guess:D

Well, my laptop doesn't run freelancer. I bought it for work. Ah, if only i could know i will find some good 3D-game to play, hehe. Toshiba Satellite L300-21R. On the other hand it is able to run some more 3d games i tested so it may be some other issue. After all, i didn't even see videocard didn't plug&play until i installed freelancer so it worked fine without videocard for half a year and even something in 3d, hah.

Really?
I thought any copy of FL running the DSAce client... Meh.

Hopefully with the -d thing... I should be able to get 1280x1024 on my desktop, right?
It's natural resolution is 1024x768... But I run windows at 1280x1024 with no problems.:yahoo:
