Gallic jumpgate - frozen - 12-16-2009 having got some free time, i spent yesterday working on a model for a gallic jumpgate, and after a bit of work, came up with this: http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k13/gurjiv/2-6.jpg http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k13/gurjiv/3-4.jpg http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k13/gurjiv/4-3.jpg (png version of the first image: http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k13/gurjiv/1-22.png ) heres the comparison shot to show you how big it compares with the vanilla gate: http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k13/gurjiv/5-1.jpg ----------- ofcourse, it still needs a bit of tweaking and touching up, and details, but thats the general shape with which i was thinking of going. the textures i will use are going to be ones already present in the mod, so no worries there, though i -did- consider making a new custom set of textures for gallia in a style that would hardly seem... "freelancerish", but thats for later. ive made the entrance hole slightly wider than these images show (i will post updated pictures tomorrow when i get back home to my own pc), and now it can fit a zoner juggernaut through it, with a bit of room for movement if say, the jugg was bumped by some npc ship, but its not -too- big of a gap. thoughts? Gallic jumpgate - Tarkis - 12-16-2009 These gates don't have an animation, right? If that's the case, I think it's great. It's huge, but I think that fits Gallia for what I know about it. Gallic jumpgate - frozen - 12-16-2009 Nope. so far i do not know how to do animations, hence the reason for it being an open JG unlike the vanilla one. HOWEVER, if i get help on the animation part (i think a couple people may know how to work it to our favor) to work, i will rework the entrance to allow the opening and closing of the gate when being used etc. furthermore, the model in the images is not the final product, ive done some changes to it, which ill post tomorrow when i get home. Gallic jumpgate - Sprolf - 12-16-2009 It's really very nice. About time we had some Gallian stations. I'm not entirely sure if it looks all that Gallian. Does it? Gallic jumpgate - Alex. - 12-16-2009 I'd like to see a picture of this in game, replacing a normal Sirian jump gate... I think the colours would need to be changed a little personally... NOTE: Your link in brackets is broken - end the [url] tag before the close bracket, it's annoying Photobucket.:nono: Gallic jumpgate - Tarkis - 12-16-2009 If you animate it, rather than having the arms an a hinge like the vanilla gate, you should have those large trapazoid-ish sections slide open and closed on a rail. Just angle the arms inward, they already look like rails. Just an idea. Gallic jumpgate - Alex. - 12-16-2009 Animation would require a lot of work I believe... Although, I guess you could use the normal animation, modify it a bit... Gallic jumpgate - Lump Lorry - 12-16-2009 ' Wrote:Animation would require a lot of work I believe... Even if it needs some refinements, it looks very nice. If you would be able to animate the gate it would be marvelous!! Gook luck!! Gallic jumpgate - kingvaillant - 12-16-2009 Keep on the good job Gurj! I like! If you can strap an anim. on it, good. Although it is not a vital feature to the gate itself. Gook luck!!I think by that quote you were referring to me... I don't know how to do this, I'm just going on my knowledge of what could be done. |
