Mining in Gallia - Sickboy - 12-21-2009 This question is rather to be answered by Dusty who is taking care of mining. Except junk that you can sell for 70 per piece is there anything else that can be mined in Gallia. I got one GMS char and I wish to use it for mining. Is it possible and profitable to mine in Gallia after update 3 ? And if not will it ever be? Mining in Gallia - Elven - 12-21-2009 I'd really prefer to do something with trade first... It's kinda.. bad. ..or we're waiting 4.86? I've got GMS as well.. -.- Mining in Gallia - BaconSoda - 12-22-2009 I believe that Mining in Gallia has a great potential. I mean, they have to mine something to get all that stuff. Languedoc is supposedly a Copper mining area, Lorraine likely has Cobalt or somesuch, could see Burgundy with some nice Beryllium. The possibilities are endless! Of course, it'd probably be suicide with all the NPCs, but, it'd still be nice to have. NPC are not a problem for Sirians in Languedoc and Champagne there is less GRN patrols and you can always ask for Le Conseil help. Unfortunately economy in Gallia is designed for Gallic corporation only (with some useless for RP trade routes). So NPC would not cause much damage to GMS and if not there is always a possibility to hire Gallic only merc (but no one plays as such). I wonder how much you can get per shot form those mining fields? Mining in Gallia - Captain - 12-22-2009 I think there might be Mining fields, but they prolly are atm in the core systems, Mining in Gallia - BaconSoda - 12-22-2009 With such a giant military, though, the core worlds must be mined out already. I mean, Gallia has to be 4x size of any single house in Sirius, speaking in militaristic terms. If there is to be mining, it would really be in the Core Worlds. Also, I don't know about you, but, I've found the 4 Brigand Bomber patrols and 4 Maquis VHF patrols to be quite formidable... Mining in Gallia - Sickboy - 12-22-2009 Then it sucks... you will need to pay at least 50% of your profit to get a fighter cover for those enemy patrols. If nothing will change in next update/mod version Gallia would be only pew pew and RP place for fanatics like me. No profitable trade nor mining. Mining in Gallia - Tenacity - 12-22-2009 Oil is used more commonly in gallia than the other houses of sirius, primarily because natural fossil fuels/oils are extremely rare everywhere else in sirius. I'd like to see something in 4.86 designed for oil mining. Perhaps retexture some asteroids black, and use a dense black nebula with the asteroid field, to make it a dark and 'dangerous feeling' place to work, with oil as the product mined. I know it doesnt make much sense to mine fossil oils in space, but it would be cool nonetheless =P On a semi related note... oil really needs to be buffed as an inter-house commodity within gallia. Right now it's worse than food rations/synth paste for trade value, there's no real point to it at all in fact. Need some locations with higher buying prices - think of oil as gallia's version of deuterium, Hfuel, and mox. I was thinking the same, Raw oil would be minable and bought high at EFL refinery's and sells Oil cheap, Mining in Gallia - Sprolf - 12-22-2009 I like that idea - coal asteroids! The Badlands even look like it. And oil would be a horrible commodity even if it didn't take up two cargo space. |
