O.O - Eppy - 06-27-2007 I go checking Datastorm for data on the capship armor powerups. I'd thought there were only six, but I notice a seventh and eigth. Interested, I look them up. And, to use some of the more common internet slang: W.T.F.
895,000,000 Sirius credits!?
Some of us DO have lives, though sometimes it's just wishful thinking (in my case). I can buy two systems with that (which is another thing...though money's no issue there). I CAN'T AFFORD TO ARMOR A CAPITAL SHIP IF IT COSTS 2.2 TIMES THE SHIP ITSELF. WHY is it so expensive? God help me. O.O - Fellow Hoodlum - 06-27-2007 Data *cough* Storm ... Tut tut. Level seven is only 245 million, whatcha complaining about ? Now you have found the reason some of us trade a little more than the others. Mmm, expensive toys ... Pass me that credits card ... Hoodlum O.O - Panzer - 06-27-2007 It's so expensive so that only big factions could afford them. Frankly, imo, it's a waste of money. Its armor multiplier is too low compared to the price. I personally have a mk VII variant on my battlestar and I always have an equal (though hard) fight against a ship with the mk VIII. Tested it against two liberty dreadnoughts in Connecticut. Once, we blew up simultaneously. Another, I fired the last shot while having a hair of hull left, another the same, but reversed. O.O - Dab - 06-27-2007 Check the infocard on it Epy. You'll see WHY its priced that high. Any lower and it would be too good of a piece of equipment. O.O - Korrd - 06-27-2007 Yes. It's for factions to have, and sparsely, not everybody and their dogs in starfliers with MKVIII armors... That's why it's expensive. Don't worry about being outarmored, there are around 5 ships with those... 5 out of ~2200+. O.O - Eppy - 06-27-2007 ...ah. Still, that's just downright expensive. I guess my train's crew doesn't get any shore leave any more... Sorry then. I have heart attacks every time I see big numbers. And no, Hoodlum, I don't use Datastorm on a regular basis or for hunting secrets. Just for reference. O.O - Commodore - 06-27-2007 once of my friends has it, its muliplys it by 4 times, not enough for the price. O.O - McNeo - 06-27-2007 Of course it is, imagine a RH battleship with a capship mk VIII armour upgrade. If my memory doesnt fail me, thats 200 million hull! Also, I fought the Altaneria a while ago against an unarmoured battleship ( I cant recall the model), and he got wiped out, with only scratches on my hull. People are willing to pay for that exxtra "edge" in battle, and I think that this should be aplauded. Its stats are perfect IMHO, and it is only for factions or those who devote a week to trading. Just the way it should be. (If I could devote my week to trading I would, because thats the only thing this school connection is good for. Alas, FL is blocked, and more recently my computer failed, so no chance there) O.O - Commodore - 06-27-2007 accually, only 2.8 million hull. But it costs too much. Whats the point if it takes you a month to buy it? just to get an edge in battle isnt very important really. thats just me though. O.O - Dab - 06-27-2007 It gives PLENTY for the price. Heck, a BS with Capship VIII armor can take on TWO BSs with normal VIII armor, if flown right with a good loadout. |
