Help with id / bounty - spikefin - 12-31-2009 I recently attempted to put a bounty on someone only to find them quite upset and telling me i was breaking rules so im hoping someone knowledgeable can help me understand this. A player failed to pay the agreed amount for my services 2 times in 24 hours. Im a miner was mining for them. I was annoyed so i informed a local outcast and offered 5,000,000 for his head He terminated him after a long chase and i payed. I have a Miner ID which from my understanding is mostly lawful Outcast is unlawful Did i go about this the wrong way? If so could you please give some guidlines for future refrence. A bit about my character. I always pay everyone and try to be fair (Ie i pay 50% Of profit distribuated between helpers) When i fail in a mission i pay the people helping me. When people help me i pay for there time When i accidentally waste peoples time i pay them for it regardless. (Like miscalculating profits i pay what i said not what i made) Basically, As i miner i see it as money talks, In this light not paying for my service was an imense insult. Thats the basic outline. EDIT: This is also part of the reason i have a miners id and not a faction miners id. I liked the "Mostly Lawful" bit on www.discoveryfl.com/wiki Help with id / bounty - Tomtomrawr - 12-31-2009 A bounty has to be posted on the forums for it to be official and thus existing. If it isn't on the forums and the Outcast did destroy the player, claiming there was a bounty that wasn't on the forums, then the Outcast and you did break the rules. Edit: And the Miner ID is not mainly lawful. A lot of people pirate other people for ore with a Miner ID. Is there a specific place / way to place said bounty? My ID doesn't say i can pirate? It says Cannot Pirate Help with id / bounty - Tomtomrawr - 12-31-2009 ' Wrote:Is there a specific place / way to place said bounty? You can place it in the Bounty Board section of the forums. And, oh, I just checked the Miner ID and it says it can't pirate. They used to be able to pirate ore, but, now on the wiki it says they can't pirate. Help with id / bounty - spikefin - 12-31-2009 Thank you for your time. Although im a bit late seeking it i shall bookmark and remember for future. Edit: But since im semi lawful... Seeking out an outcast is alright still? Help with id / bounty - Exsiled_one - 12-31-2009 You can post a bounty and say you dont care who actually does the kill. If you are posting bounties so your other character can actually claim it, thats just low Help with id / bounty - spikefin - 12-31-2009 ' Wrote:You can post a bounty and say you dont care who actually does the kill. Nope it was another player that cliamed it. I offered the bounty to the whole system. Help with id / bounty - spikefin - 12-31-2009 That is why im trying to figure out were i went wrong. Im new to this and have read a lot on wiki, and had a lot of help in game and im really trying but nowhere can i find a comprehensive guide on this. And in game i was told that a bounty was valid even if you set it in game. It now makes sense that this probably isn't so as there is no proof i ever set a bounty. and with the links provided i believe in future i will do much better. Thank you all for your time. And sincere apologies to anyone in the system who caught the tail end of this shinadagen. Help with id / bounty - Agmen of Eladesor - 12-31-2009 Here's the way to think about this. When you're playing here, consider yourself to be an actor on a stage. The only difference between us and a movie or play is that we don't actually have a director telling you what to do for your camera shots, and there is no script so you have to ad-lib all of your lines. The key thing is that our stage has two sets for many things. We have the forums here, and we also have the in-game activities. Certain actions, such as bounties, require that you act on BOTH sets. Otherwise, for most of what you do, you can act away to your hearts content on the set that is in-game. But the key thing is that you NEED to role-play and act while you're in game. PvP can (and in many cases should be) a vital part of the RP, but first and foremost this is an RP server. Although im browsing the forums alot now... Is there another necessary forum interactions i should be aware of? I cant think of any others. But theres a massive amount of information here ive read the start posts and alot of others but are there any i need to utilise for in game purposes? Like the bounty one. |
