Its an orquard question, because the year can only change with a mod update, and update of the News Boards. Last year I'd have said no.
This year, after auto-update came along...I just don't know.
I show star-dates as dd/mm/yyy 817A.S. and let other people's characters interpret what the numbers mean.
For example, 31/12/009 817A.S. Until told otherwise, I'll refer to the coming year as dd/mm/010 817 A.S.
It would be nice to get an official take on this.

A.S. is After Settlement.
As in, after the settlement of Manhatten.

most of everything i read about in info cards and such are news of events that already happened in 817 AS.
so it shouldnt really change anything by saying its a new year. we just wont see any 818 news for a little while...

I think we can fairly say we are in 818 now.
Does not change anything except our dates in reports and where they also tend to appear.
