A question about the Chancellor in Rheinland - Tomtomrawr - 03-04-2010

So, according to the sources I have found, when the house of Rheinland was formed it took on a similar form to the 19th Century. After the Popular Revolution, the system is re-placed with something similar to what took hold after WWI, with a Chancellor. Now my studies of history and the Reichstag show that there should be a Reichstag President. In 1934 (after the death of the Reichstag President, Hindeburg) Hitler combined the President and Chancellor to form Fuehrer (u should have double dots, which represent ue).

My question is this: Who is the Reichstag President? And if he does not exist in FL, is the Chancellor more like a Fuehrer?

Just because something is based on something, does not mean it is exactly like that thing.

What my esteemed colleague is trying to say is that, while in 20th century earth events transpired to bring the office of the Fuehrer about, events in Disco have done anything but.

Rheinland needed a strong ruler, and the Chancellor was exactly that. He tried (and is still trying) through iron-fisted rule, to bring Rheinland back from the devastation of both the 80 Years War and the Nomad War.

The office of the President of the Reichstag has probably been absorbed (if created at all) into the Chancellor's job description too. It's fairly totalitarian there from my experiences.

A question about the Chancellor in Rheinland - Ceoran - 03-04-2010

compare him to Bismarck, not to Hindenburg. Then apply what Zelot said to subtract Emperor Wilhelm II. And no, you are not allowed to go around "Rheinlanders are fascists". It's old, and it's wrong.

A question about the Chancellor in Rheinland - Colonel.Tigh - 03-04-2010

There has been some ideas, to role play the Bundestag (parlament) of Rheinland, and do some forum politics, but it stayed with the ideas, cause noone really wanted to put effort into it.
The German President has mostly administrative dutys, and a veto right for new laws, so you can assume there is one in the rheinland government.
But especially in times of war (what we have in rheinland now) the government mostly rely on the executive powers of the kanzleramt.

Basicly Malexa runns rheinland in dictatorship, for a more democratic politic of rheinland, we would need a lot of people, to do it, a senator for every rheinland system, a representetive for the big corporations, and on, even the LWB and Bundshcuh hold some political power in rheinland.

Freelancer ist mostly a game of action, political roleplay could be fun, but i dought we'd find a lot of motivated players to do so.

I think Ceorans comparison to Bismarck fits pretty good.

A question about the Chancellor in Rheinland - Tovig - 03-05-2010

I think the actual Chancelor fusionned the two seats, like Hitler did. So the GottKanzler is chancellor AND president.

A question about the Chancellor in Rheinland - arvg - 03-06-2010

The very title GottKanzler is indicative of something new.

God-Chancellor...

read into it whatever you would.

There can be arguments made that he is a fascist, but there are equal arguements to be made that he is not.

As far as I know he is an elected official, and is the head of state.

Let the Rhienlander's run it how the desire to, I like to think that there is more than what is on the surface.

The Coalition is Rp-ed as having a Duma - state national assembly, while its High Command act as its Politburo (yes there are Civilian members of that body), and McIntosh sits on top as the Great Leader (Chairman/Premier) of the Party.

The wonderful thing here is that you can shape it to be whatever you want it to be. It is about your perspective, to a Hessian the Gottkanzler is a dictator, to a Rhienland lawful he could be a God, or as simple as a Chancellor.

Let your character's perspective guide your RP.

A question about the Chancellor in Rheinland - ... kur nubÄ—go? - 03-06-2010

I think Kanzler is similiar to Fuhrer for now.

But that's alright. Rheinland suffered for great devastation and needs to rebuild. There is no place for democrasy and long debates. Is time to take action for now. Alltought bundschuh and red hessians are destroying house from inside making fuzz.

A question about the Chancellor in Rheinland - Blodo - 03-08-2010

Just to say, the Chancellor is not RPed as a "god chancellor" even though people keep dragging that out. There is no state religion in Rheinland, just political power.
