So, if I get it right, the BHG core is a sort of private military corporation. If it's private, who's the owner of such a large army?

the core is part of the Bounty Hunters Guild, buy it is dedicated to the war with the order, and aquiring alien technology. they do not hunt bounties.

I thought that the BHG Core and the BHG were two completely different entities and somewhat unrelated to each others, like the Gallic Junkers and the Junkers.

It's stated in the description of the faction that the BHG Core has nearly unlimited funding, I assume this is thanks to the bounties claimed by the 'regular' Hunters, since I've never seen them selling the technology they discovered.

The Core is the military branch of the Guild. The comment is so often made 'how come ragtag ex-criminals have capital ships?' 'why are they in the omicrons?' A lot of people have NO clue whatsoever of what the Core really is. Which, in rp, is pretty good. Because the Core is supposed to be as hush hush as possible.
So here is the run down.
Bounty Hunters Guild
The standard Bounty Hunters organisation. Formely known as S/D for the 'vet' players around. This is the group of ex criminals, thrill seekers, folk out for revenge (yes, their parents got murdered in a pirate attack and now they want revenge as they were the sole survivor of the incident. Half the Sirius population is an orphan, don't ask) and peope with no live etc.
The Bounty Hunters fly up to gunboats, and some civvie ships. They hunt bounties, provide escort services and do the general bounty hunting thingie.
Guild Core
The military branch of the Bounty Hunters Guild. The Core operates soley in the Omicrons. The Core does NOT hunt bounties. Nor are they bounty hunters in the sense of the word. Core hunters are reffered to as 'Agents' rather than hunters. But everyone calls em hunters non the less, because of their affiliation.
The Core is funded by the Guild, and by the jobs it does for 3rd parties. The Core is NOT a collection of rag tag criminals running around the omicrons. It is a private military company who have well trained forces rather than thugs in employment. The Core is after nomad technology to be able to reach technological superiority over criminals ( and maybe other groups...) and to expand their power. However, the true objective of the Core, the reason they are after the tech, is not known. They seem to be just plain power hungry.
Core agents are fanatical nutcases who are obsessed with their cause. They deem their task more or less a crusade. That's why the war with the Order started: the Core doesn't like the Order barring them from their key to power. This is the reason why the Core has warships as well: they have the money, the manpower and the facilities to build them. they need them to be able to fight off the Order fleets, corsair incursions into what the Core refers to as 'their space' and to deal with the giant Nomad thread around the corner.
The normal BHG sometimes helps the Core in the edgeworlds (for the standing contracts there), but it's never the other way around.
to summarize:
BHG = the Bounty Hunters as people know em: ragtag gunslingers out for money
Core = private military which does not dwell in any form of bounty hunting. But is soley after power expantion at the cost of pretty much everyone who gets in their way.

bigger bottles of beer
anything that give you that "edge" over the criminals.
in between the Core and the BHG you will find 2 small factions (independant)
those would be Legion| (yes, im a bad little boy adverticing my faction) and EA| (ea is pretty dead, just some sporadic appearances)
Legion and EA builts partly on the same RP, a baseless hate.
They will both hunt criminals out of pure hate, but still aint gonna be the ones overlooking the big fat paycheck that comes from such actions.
you can say, Legion and EA, aim to kill and make profit
BHG wants pure profit, and some bloodshed
BHG|Core will waste ANYTHING that crosses its path to victory.
as a note: the fact that Core and BHG dont work together, its not a lie... only time their in group together is to lay waste to every criminal they can find.

Core = Teutonic Order
Order = Eastern European Pagans that must be purged!
So... yeah, the idea of the Core is that it is between a PMC and a 'secret society', wih elements of both. The Core is very very VERY secretive, about their members, about their Nomad research and about their goals. And as such they will send vast ammounts of soldiers into battle to utterly crush anyone that stands in their way, and prevent anyone from getting the Nomad tech they plan to gain a vast technological advantage on every other military from.
BHG Core - Agmen of Eladesor - 03-08-2010
Realize as well that the BHG| owns their own shipping company (APM Manufacturing), which is who built Alabama and Dabadoru, and also specializes in selling both small arms (personal weapons) as well as larger toys.
We try to stay off the obvious radar - we do our flashy things with killing people, but our financial backing is enormous. As an in game thing, I would guess that we're the second or third richest faction in all of Sirius.

Not as much as it is hate, it is, as they say: bussiness. Some may be in it for the hatred/revenge/emo stuff. To others, it's just business.
As for the Core. They don't hate everyone. But thay don't take kindly to anyone who gets in their way.
