I've noticed that the coordinate system is rough at best, and recommend that images of the object's location on a map accompany every possible coordinate for precision.

Freelancer Companion has the capability to display the relative (but more precise) locations of all objects in a particular system (albeit on only a 2d plane).

In short, no, it's called discovery, you should go out and discover. We debated even having the rough locations on the wiki.

Things like bases have their information automatically generated based on the .ini files.

We use this.
