could we make them mountable so that u dont lose them if you die? kinda like cargo pods. maybe raise the price so that everyone wouldn't carry them all the time.

No we can't. Mountable equipment needs a hardpoint to be attached to (unless it's standard equipment, but there's only one "virtual hardpoint" for each and they are all used). Since I can't add a hardpoint to each of the 100+ new ships and cannot edit all original models (would increase mod size too much), I'm not adding new mountable goodies.
