Develop a Rheinland Polizei Gunship - Tomtomrawr - 04-11-2010
Although very few of those who actually voted "Yes" in this thread posted their approval - most likely in fear of being mauled by those who favoured against it - there still seems to be a large majority.
The Phantom does not have the power needed to take down most of the fighters in Rheinland, especially as many of them are good. The Mjolnir, although very good in combat, is a flying target that can easily be taken by anyone with decent aim. If we all flew Wraiths we would just be the Military. And the Rheinland Gunboat has the same problem as the Mjolnir - an easy target for anything that isn't being targetted by the ship.
Now that I have finished justifying this, I can get onto the offer.
I've decided to put a 100 million credit prize up for anyone who can design a Rheinland Gunship, with a primary role of combat against bombers and fighters, and some transport interception. I'm looking for something that will have the same sort of effect as the Bounty Hunter Gunship. Fast, agile, lightly armoured, with a great firing arc system, and quite a small target.
Just keep to the Rheinlandish sort of shipstyle. This contest closes on the 25th of April, and may run on longer if there is a lack of entries.

As member of the RFP, I've decided to add an amount of 50 million into the pocket, to make it a total of 150 million for whoever designs the before mentioned ship.
It would really be of good use, and I'd like to ask the people who I know are bloody good at modeling ( fe. Jinx , Luis (Mouth Shot) , DartStriker , etc ... sorry I don't remember everyone right now ... ) to please if you have some spare time, give it a go, help the RFP out ^^

they're looking for something that is actually good at interdiction and surviving battles against other gunboats/gunships/traders/bombers. Not a freighter you can slap a cap 8 on and claim to be a gunship. Those are posers.
In my mind, I imagine a more shortened, streamlined version of the Military gunboat. Drop the main gun, the bottom conning tower, perhaps split the engines, and then give it a nasty forward-firing weapon assortment. As in it just shoots forwards.

We are using Ragnars, but as soon as the first bomber comes in, or a Gunship, then the Ragnar goes Boom Boom ....

Have you considered to "rent" some Bottlenoses from BHG??
Real life police DOES happen to rent special vehicles from private security firms or the military.
Since your so "close" to Rostock, im sure BHG wouldn't mind renting you 2-3 gunships....
And reason i think you should rent: This would be the Rheinland gunboat opposite to the LABC..... Rheinland ship "tradition"
Heavy, fast, small, lots of power......
that would make a gunship with like:
500k energy
5 guns in all directions
90k hull
and the size of a big mjolnir....
