ok...on another forum...its private, sorry.

when a lot of people are posting at the same time, and you post, and someone else has posted while you were writing your post, it lets you see that before you post, so that you wont say things that have already been said...or can change your post to address the ideas in the last one...

can we do that here?

new post alert - Flo - 09-12-2007

Theres a niice little thing called the "EDIT" button at the bottom of your post

Edit: See?

Edit2: Hope you meant that;)

new post alert - Unseelie - 09-12-2007

yes.

and its quite useful.

once you've made an ass of yourself.

and...its just not as crisp and clean.

edit....also, when you edit, people dont get told about it in the view new posts button....

Well wait, so you're saying on these other forums. While you're writing a post, it keeps you update to date if any new posts are made?

If so, what forum program are they using?

new post alert - DarkOddity - 09-12-2007

Yes I would like to know that as well.

new post alert - Unseelie - 09-13-2007

no...it just tells you...when you hit the post button...if someone else has posted while you were writing it...
it just updates the last ten posts, and tells you about it....so you can read the new post...and edit you're post accordingly

here's my forum support info....
dont know what else to give you.

I do.
All the time.
And, I don't like it.
I want to be able to put out my finished post, and have it be done.
Thats why i often spend fifteen or twenty minutes working on one.
And then I leave it.
The next time I come back to it can be days later.

Call me an anal perfectionist...it was just an idea, I've seen it before, and I liked it, wondered if it could be implemented here...and my question still stands:

Can it?
If it can be, will it please be done?

new post alert - DBoy1612 - 09-13-2007

Ah, so its SMF that does it? Yes, I've used that forum program before but was never to interested in it.

Now, I'm not sure if this is possible in IPB. But I have access to the latest version's Admin CP. So I'll look around and see what I can find.:)
