Please, god help the RP server when I have to do this. I can't even play on it at the moment and I am doing this. Why? because I am sick and tired of people buying the best PvP ships. Its simply to bad to ignore. This is simply too much!

PvP on the RP server - Unseelie - 09-16-2007

I'm afraid that I disagree.

Much of my characters' roleplay requires conflict and violence.

Having freelancer without combat is like having a girlfriend who wants no sex.

I go with blunt on this one.

I personally disagree because, as long as I've Role Played, no matter where it was, I've always believed there are three elements in a sort of triangle of neccessary things. Without one, the others won't work correctly. They are...

Political aspect- Things like organized factions and groups of people, basically anything dealing with player interaction has some effect on a political structure. This interaction is a neccessity in order to really create a Role Play environment.

Economical aspect- Money tends to be a driving factor in almost any character or faction's life. It's neccessary in order to keep a sense of competition, and carries a lot of weight.

Combat/ Militarial aspect- Well, when your political or economical arguments fail, this is the last resort. It's also the pinnacle of many type of lives, and creates the need for the economy. No fighting means there's no need for money because there's no reason to improve your ships.

Every aspect needs one of the other aspects in order to function as it should. Take away combat and politics are done to solely arguments that would be fruitless, no consequence. As explained above, without combat, economy simply doesn't function.

So I truly do disagree with taking away combat, it's, unfortunately, a neccessary part of the "circle of Role Play." Albeit I believe that too many people focus solely on combat- if you, on an individual level, ignore everything but the combat aspect, you'll individually be a failure at Role Playing, for the most part. You don't have to dedicate yourself to one element, but you shouldn't be ignorant to any of them either.

You know lads as long as factions ask their pilots to have at least 3 pvp kills before they can join you won't stop pvp, and that adds to a lot of the frustration, because they don't really PvP properly, some poor noobe like myself when i started doing missions to get a tag, you were so engrossed you did not expect the Lad who needs the 3 kill, to come up behind you and your shoot the ship from under you, he didn't care either he got what he wanted his first or last kill

You know, if we don't shut PvP down on the RP server, what can we do about the quickly deteriorating state of the RP server? I don't know to be honest. I would like those who disagree to propose somthing else.
