Maya is better, but the Control Interface is a bit tougher. THEN you have to start paying for them... designing new ships... - mohr - 09-19-2007 The final .cmp and .mat files are made in a program called Milkshape. Lancersreactor has all required files to make the .cmp and .mat, they also have tutorials and additional help forums there. I suggest using one of the tutorials first just to get a feel for what needs to be done. If you already do 3D modeling, see if you can import the model into Milkshape. I do my modeling in Maya and import it into Milkshape. If you do it this way there is usually some trial and error to get the importing/exporting to work properly. If you first get the modeling to work, the next step is texturing. It can be outsourced to a texturer, such as Yuri Neova, if you have the credits and they are willing. Otherwise you need to either follow the tutorial or teach yourself. Hope that helps. To MODEL a ship, you can use Milkshape, GMax, 3DS Max, Maya, Rhino, [the list is endless].
