I'll say I have to agree with Schlurbi about the mess we have on the Developers forum saying that:
-"Oh it looks (xxxx)-ish"
-"I hate it..."
and other idiotic post that some of the community "players" does.

This is in fact irritating for those who are developing and for those who are trying to prove a point or give well done critics. Another thing that is stupid is that most people repeats what the previous posts say - which is annoying. - If you see a post that says almost the same thing on what you plan to say - think of something else useful to earn that +1, don't make us (devs or Thread/Post Creator) waste our breath or time to read something over and over again.

This Idea might be stupid - but I believe the admins should remove the +1 post on Devs Forum - this is where the flames are being thrown with flammable words. Also, the admins could make the 'all' RP'ing sections +1 only.
Again, is just an Idea.

So, please Admins/Moderators - keep an eye on the Devs forum and make this rule alive.

Now, personally I believe adding a separate feedback section for ship models' concept/usefulness would solve this issue. Opening a thread there about a model would not be mandatory, it would be like adding feedback to stories, for example.

That way, the artistic approach and the conceptual approach is separated.

Of course, the "pwnsome model" posts cannot be fought with such measures, but I strongly believe moderators and admins have more important issues to attend.

I've yet to realize why there's so much drama about post counts anyway. You guys should check out a site with a rep/karma system.

I'm going to be honest.

I have a hidden post in there too, proclaiming the same thing.

Above my hidden post? Another one.

It is almost impossible to stem the tide of useless posts in the dev section short of locking down the people who are allowed to post.

Just because you are earning a high amount of posts per second or whatever doesn't put you into the gods of Discovery GC, if I am older than someone or amass more money it doesn't make me a better person by default. Pointless posts are pointless but you can just scroll that much more to view the next post.

But the post count system is fun:P

Just make the Dev forums like flood so people don't get +1 posts.

Perhaps a moderator dedicated to the mod section of the forum?

I keep bugging Joe about that.

My only stipulation is that said moderator should have an understanding of modeling, texturing, and hopefully modding in general if they're going to muck about in the modding sections.
