Group idea- Kusari Seperatists - Blackstarr - 05-07-2010
So i was talking around in the Kusari Unlawful chat, and I came up with this idea. What if there was a small but growing group within the GC/Dragons that no longer wanted to take over Kusari. The whole overthrow the emperor idea just seemed like it would never work to them, so they changed their viewpoint. This group of "separatists" now wants to annex several systems from Kusari Control and create an independent State. This group would be made up of already existing GC/Dragon citizens, and its main goals would be to push this idea into the HC of the GC and Dragons and make it a widespread ideal, then execute those ideals and eventually reach the goal of a separatist state.
Ideas? Opinions? I need them.

First off; This separatist movement in no way means they are defecting from the GC/BD. They are GC/BD pilots that have decided to try to annex certain systems from the Kusari government and create a separate sovereign state. That because they decide to go from trying to take down the government, to trying to annex several systems from the government, that the GC and OC will cut off their supply? Why would they? This group would still be closely related to the BD/GC, still enemies of everyone the BD/GC are enemies of, and still maintaining relations with the OC for supplies.
The goals are slightly different, but in the grand scheme of things, still the same. Slowly annexing systems from the Kusari government's control is a logical step towards their ultimate goal of replacing that government in full. As such, this group would be doing the BD/GC a favor and helping to further their goals.
This would also mean, that if they are recognized as a separate sovereign state, Kusari can't simply attack them without repercussions by other houses that recognize this group. It'd be seen as a state of war. See Taiwan for an example. Taiwan, by gaining the recognition as a separate state by several key world nations, effectively stopped China's attempts to take them over.
I think any discussion on 'GC/BD/OC will cut them off' should be left to the GC/BD/OC players. This group can do its RP along those lines and conduct diplomacy as they planned, and through that we can decide whether or not such a step is necessary. But people coming in here and saying the 'GC WILL do this.' or the 'BD WILL do that.' is speaking for factions which you are not in control of. What we do is our decision to make.

Wouldn't be made up of GC, they can't defect due to their need for Cardamine.
Wouldn't be made up of Dragons, they are too faithful to their cause, a Dragon that isn't faithful, isn't a Dragon at all.
So on second thoughts, who would make them up?
Also, where would they go, who would supply them? Where would they stay?

Well I have been talking in the Kusari Chat ... and there are many Dragons who would love to separate and change their ideals. Plus... how is the cardamine a problem... their source of cardamine wouldn't change. I don't see why making a new separatist state would prevent them from getting their cardi fix.
And i think you misunderstand my idea. They arent defecting. They arent going against their cause's ... they are just changing the idea of their caus just a little bit. They are not siding with Kusari at all. This would put them even more enemy against Kusari because they would be trying to take systems away from Kusari to create their seperate state.

They wouldnt go anywhere.... they would stay where they are ... they arent turning away from their factions, they are just expressing a different veiwpoint... they are still hostile with kusar, but instead they want to make a seperate nation instead of overthrowing the old one. They would be supplied by the same people who have supplied them for as long as they have been there.... they would stay on the bases that they originally are at. I seriously think you misunderstood m idea

The Dragons and Chrysanthemums wouldn't support and help people who won't support their goals. Why give someone a roof over their head, why feed them? If they've lost hope and faith in the goals?
They are criminals, all they have is the fight, they can't start an independant state because they are forced to hide on the corners of Kusari, with nothing to survive but what they can get from the battles they are fighting.

Well, nice idea, but you'll have to be Outcast buddies, after getting your system.
As for Dragons, I doubt they'd say such things - they'd get killed by one of thiers.

You BD folk have cruisers, right? Their flagship could be one of those, and they could be based out of Yanagi in S13.
You're right about the BD and GC exiling them Akura, but it doesn't mean there aren't other options.

The BD can barely support their own caps, though they shouldn't really have them in the first place...
It's unlikely they'd last long, Kusari and the surrounding area would not be friendly to a group like them. Too much trouble for freedom.
They wouldn't last long I'd say.

That's why you use snubcraft and don't take your flagship headfirst into combat :|
Remind me again what's so bad about the sigmas? Junkers, Outcasts, and GMG would all be neutral to these guys it sounds like.

Eh... They don't have the economy, structure or power to form an actual state. Besides, any support Dragons had would be lost once they decide to ditch out the people of Kusari and start fighting for themselves only.
Keep in mind it's Kusari. As well as with Corsairs and Outcats, some goals can be held for centuries.
