Didn't really fit the topic of the other bounties thread,

/summon cannon & code monks
To avoid new players being sanction hammered - those ones joining BH faction (And mercs or whoever else can take bounties) as just players :

What if we had a turnoffable thing, that everytime someone mentions "bounty, bounties"
then a little green (or a big green message if that's possible)
saying

"Make sure you only take bounties that are posted on the forums!"

Gut idea jah? This would be on by default.

sigh...Off to check for teh nth time i go.

Is there another place? Post 8 from "The Rules"

"Bounty-hunting, mercenary and freelance hire

All bounties must be posted on the forum. If you attack another player to claim a bounty and the bounty is not posted on the forum, you are open to a PvP abuse sanction.

Mercenaries, freelancers and bounty hunters may be hired on the spot in game to assist with a combat without a forum post. The other parties involved in the combat must be made aware of this."

Which means combat must already be at hand. You can't just call on a bounty hunter and say I hire you to kill Pirate X for pirating me 10 minutes ago. That one deserves a forum post. The hiring on the spot is for stuff like Liberty Navy fighting with Hellfire Legion ... Navy can hire a merc and/or BH on the spot to help in the fight.

@Dab
That ..

isn't ..

what?

That whole thing is confusing.
I read it as saying you must only have a bounty from the forum.
Then it says you can hire on the spot without the forum!

So which is it?

@Baltar. Exactly. That's how I read that. And vice versa a HF can hire a Merc(?) to help fight the LN.

May be = can be
hired on the spot = at the time of combat
to assist with = to assist with the conflict at hand
without a forum post = without a forum post

If you're actively involved in combat you can pick up a merc/FL onlooker to help your side out by provision of offering pay.

So my question still stands then.
Spazzy AND Dab are out of order (sic).

Would this /flhook command to display a message, help the situation for NEW players who are joining the game, and don't yet know about the "RULEZ"?

I got this idea:
For new and other players one can make a little database where all valid bounties get stored and you can check ingame which bounty are available for your depending your ID.
Could be realized through a script on the forums which put the info in the database.

Quite true Spazzy. Some of these rules are open to interpretation. Just when you think you understand them, you're proven absolutely 100% wrong. Not that you read it wrong, but that your views on the situation are wrong.
