HF-LN California Ops: Willard Assault - Taneru - 05-19-2010 ![]() This is to be the second in a series of three or four events between the Liberty Navy ([LN]) and the Hellfire Legion([HF]) focused around Willard Research Station in California. Hellfire Legion:
Thwarted in their attempt to scan Wilard previously, the Hellfire Legion has gathered a small task group together, complete with an assault transport and the firepower of the HFGB Undaunted, and have moved into the Tahoe ice cloud with the intention of assaulting Wilard station and boarding the station to extract data from the station's computers directly. To this extent, a distraction has been arranged to draw off the garrison forces while the Legion moves in on the station. Win Condition: The Hellfire Legion is considered victorious if the assault transport manages to escape through the Cortez Jumphole. Liberty Navy:
Since the last Legion assault, the Liberty Navy has stepped up patrols around Wilard station in order to ward off another attempt. However, responding to a distraction by other Legion assets on the far side of Ontario, half of the Liberty Navy's local garrison is out of position when the main Legion task group begins its assault. The remaining Navy fighters are forced to defend themselves against the Legion ships until the rest of the garrison fleet can reach the station to reinforce them. Win Condition: The Liberty Navy is considered victorious if they manage to destroy the escaping assault transport after it detaches from Wilard. Special Rules: Divided, not conquered: Lured out of position by Legion assets in Ontario, half the Navy garrison fleet is resupplying in Ontario when the Legion assault begins. Only three of the Navy fighters start at Wilard. The remaining two fighters, along with both Navy gunboats, will start near Fort Severn in Ontario. As soon as the assault begins, they should move at best speed towards California and Wilard in order to reinforce the beleaguered fighters. Boarding Action: The overall objective of the Legion for this operation is land an assault force on Wilard station, push forward to the nearest internal security station, extract information on the layout of the station from the security computer systems, and then escape with the data. The station-side action will be done in a forum roleplay thread with a few set rules and a predetermined end result decided by both myself, Tycho, and JihadJoe. This ending will lead up to the next event. However, for the space-side of things, the Hellfire Legion will use a Pelican to represent the Legion's assault transport, which will hold position next to Wilard for most of the battle. Until the Libery Navy reinforcements arrive, the transport cannot be attacked, as the assault team has blasted a hole through the hull of the station to gain access, and the emergency pressure bulkheads are being overridden in order for the assault team to advance. Only after half of one side or the other is destroyed can anything happen to the transport. This is to represent the time it would take for either the Wilard security teams to begin pushing back the Legion assault force, or the Legion forces to push forward to their objective. Either way, after at least three ships on one side are down, the transport 'detatches' from Wilard and begins to move away from the station towards the Cortez jumphole. Participation: This event is open to all members of the Hellfire Legion([HF]) and the Liberty Navy([LN]). For this event, independants will only be permitted with permission from the leaders of each side. Liberty Navy: 1. [Fighter]: 2. [Fighter]: 3. [Fighter]: 4. [Fighter]: 5. [Fighter]: 6. [Gunboat]: 7. I can easily find three people to do this. Looks like a damned fine event to me. Drop me a note on skype when you have dates for it. I'd be up for the Break Free rule as well. Infact I think it's kinda cool. HF-LN California Ops: Willard Assault - Corsair - 05-23-2010 Sign me up for the Hellfire. Sounds interesting. HF-LN California Ops: Willard Assault - Taneru - 05-24-2010 Preliminary dates for this look to be Friday the 4th or Sunday the 6th. This is subject to change if some people cannot make it. Exact times will be worked out as we get closer to those dates. Since the Liberty Navy side is pretty much sorted out, we'll need just one or two more Legionnaires for this. HF-LN California Ops: Willard Assault - Durandal - 05-31-2010 C'mon people, drop a line if you can make it next Friday or Saturday and try to work out an ideal time. HF-LN California Ops: Willard Assault - Elven - 06-01-2010 That's interesting, I could bring a Broadsword, but I'm no more [HF]. HF-LN California Ops: Willard Assault - Denelo - 06-08-2010 Sign me up as a backup if HF doesn't have enough people In other words, I have negative priority or something. I've been involved in a ton of HF events in the past, and would rather give other people a chance to participate. It'd be better if you didn't even put me on the list at all, just called me up if I'm actually needed. Character would be either [HF]-Adam.Daniels or [HF-AR]-Terkalahkan. Former's a PFC, latter's a recon drone. Both're fighters. Take your pick. HF-LN California Ops: Willard Assault - wainwright - 06-09-2010 I'll jump in as backup as well. I think I can be around tonight. I'm hardly a new recruit though.... HF-LN California Ops: Willard Assault - Gemel - 06-10-2010 As a brand new recruit to the HF, as long as this event is at a suitable time I'll gladly take part, looks like good fun. HF-LN California Ops: Willard Assault - Durandal - 06-11-2010 This one has already been done. Wait for the next installment. |
