Ship submissions notice - frozen - 05-29-2010
This is aimed specifically to the 3d modellers aiming to get their ships into the discovery mod.
We are currently not accepting any more new ship submissions.
Furthermore, All of those looking to make any replacement models and wish to submit them, you have until the 21th of July, 2010 to make all of your submissions to me either via PM on the forums, or over skype (for those of you who have that), or email me them (read: disco credits) in order to have them added in. Bear in mind, we currently enforce a quality control "regime", so your work -must- meet the basic minimum in order to be put in, anything below that will be ignored.
for any replacement ships, you will need to put your files in a rar, which will need to contain (ie- the basic minimum):
> The CMP, Hardpointed correctly
> The Hitbox (wether old or new, doesnt matter, just include it)
> the required INI work to put the model in game
> The Mat file (if you made a custom one, which needs to be made correctly. no .TGA/.JPG/.PNG textures please, just .DDS')
> if need be, a read me explaining any "special notes" etc.
furthermore, please test all of your work in openSP/private server for basic functionality, we will not fix your problems, and thus they will not be included. we have enough to do as it stands.
A full list of the ships that will be put into the mod (new and replacement models) will be brought up soon here once I've compiled the list.
Also, please note, this DOES NOT INCLUDE Station components/unique bases. We'll still be accepting those, however again, there has to be a basic level of quality, and the case of stations, your texturing + hit boxing needs to be as high quality as possible. Being still objects in space, errors on them are far more easily noticeable than on ships, hence requiring extra work.

Furthermore, the date for replacement models is now gone past as well, so suffice to say, we're not accepting any more models, other than the ones we already have and have been told that the original modeller is doing some fixes/checks etc.

i personally never recieved the files, so i do not know the status of that. ill quickly find out though, wait for an update here (but going by first impressions, im guessing it probably wont be getting put in)

maybe there s no modeller wishing to make bretonian ships or bretonian style ships... anyway - gaians get a VHF / HF - they re bretonian, too...
one usually only makes ships for factions one likes or can somewhat relate to - for me .. bretonia isn t really a primary faction.. i cannot relate to their storyline, nor how the players RP the storyline, so its hard to make a ship for them. other modellers might have other reasons.
and to add to the list ...
rheinland C-transport and kishiro miner are less than secondary at that time, or in other words - i consider them rather redundant. - the other ships that have issues mostly have hitbox issues that will hopefully be solved intime

If you backread through the dev forum you'll note that there have been no less than 18 new models submitted by Frozen, Jinx, Xing, AOM, Doom, Digital Anvil, the number 19 and the letter B.
But none of them were included because Igiss hates Bret.

Edit for the obtuse: The reason there are no ships of type X is because no one -built- any ships of type X.

The way you came off carried a slight hint of paranoia coupled with a cry of "why can they get all this stuff but not us?"
As far as I know the BAF already has a full ship-line with the only thing missing would be a Battle Cruiser.
As you can observe for yourself most of these ship submissions are merely model-changers.
