Greetings friends.
My name is Brian Mc Cormack and I am the Captain of the Gaelic, a destroyer of ours.

I come to you today with a request and an opportunity.
Years past, the Union of Gold utilised vast ships such as the Outcast dreadnoughts and other ships of theirs. They were complete wastes for what they cost to maintain and all were sent to be scrapped when we chucked out the traitorous dogs.
The Proton itself is an Outcast Dreadnaught, the last ship to be scrapped and it's already been stripped of any useful internal equipment. Our scrapping crews have already started on the outer hull of the beast but she's relatively intact currently.

This vessel was a waste once, due to what he was used for, but now in it's current state it could prove extremely useful. With some work done to the ship, we could make her space worthy again and use it as a semi-mobile armoured station of sorts. It would definitely help us against Kusari and so against the Corsairs too, which is something we all can agree on being a good thing.

What we are asking of you is simple, could you make this ship space worthy once again?
It need not be anywhere close to it's original glory, simply space worthy again, with the missing sections cut off from the rest of the ship.

Thank you for your time.

Guten Tag Herr Kapitaen Cormack.

This is an interesting proposal you are making and we are very much willing to help you in that matter, since we think this would open the doors for further relations between the Mollies and us, and new relations mean new possibilities and profit for everyone involved.

There are, however some problems with this undertaking. First of all, yes, the Unioners are former shipwright workers, but that is more than 100 years in the past.
There are still some amongst us who have passed on their families traditions and knowledge. Those persons were responsible for the development of the Arbeiter fighter, amongst other things.
There are two major problems we have to talk about before we get this project going:
The Unioners are a rather small group and we lack manpower. We manage to keep our freighters and transports space worthy and get our repairs on them done and we also can manufacture our own snubcraft, but what you are talking about would require a whole lot more workers than we can currently muster.
We are, however, willing to provide people with the know-how about the reconstruction of such a huge ship, who coud function as foremen. The bulk of workers, would still be provided by the Molly republic.
The second problem is, that we lack proper facilities to conduct restauration works on a vessel this huge. Our home Duesseldorf and Pacifica base are surrounded by dense asteroid fields and are practically inacessible for capital class vessels and Wedel mining facility is a drifting derelict that barely holds its atmosphere.
I have heared from some friends in the Landwirtrechtbewegung who recently visited your home, Londonerry on a supply run, that they've seen a vast shipyard there. Would it be possible for you to free up some space and workers there for your project, so that our people could assist yours with their knowledge and workforce, and the Unioners also would assist with the delivery of needed materials and goods to get the ship running again?

All this is, however still theory and some of our experts have toinspect the hull before we can make any estimation of what materials, time and manpower is needed to make your vision come true.

I'm curious how you might think about that and I am eagerly awaiting your response.

Faithfully,

Bernd Schuster

Please be informed that the above request was presented to the Molly Republic High Council and was unilaterally denied by our councillors for reasons of its implausibility and its phenomenal drain on our rather scanty resources. This transmission channel is not affiliated with the Molly Republic in any way, shape, or form; until further notice, which may or may not come.

Thank you.
