Dump of Old Project Files - elgeeko - 06-11-2010 So yes, sometimes life moves people in different directions. I do miss Discovery Freelancer alot, but being a Star Trek nut (I do mean NUT) STO is my main online time waster now and I sadly don't have space to play Freelancer as well. (Pun not intended) I used to do alot of modeling for Disco back in ye day, and sadly none of it ever came totally to fruition. (It might have had something to do with the controversial nature of the ships I wanted to do...) In any case for those who don't know the history I wanted to make new kitbash models for all the 'upgrade' fighters in each house. And though I did, these models never passed the approval process however. (They weren't thrown out, I just never got a response) I ran across all these guys yesterday while doing folder cleanup as well as a few other half-finished ships. These are all MS3D (milkshape 3d) files, so you won't be able to access or use them if you don't have a way to get at that file format or don't have milkshape. They are all organized by folder, but the naming conventions are.... queer in some cases. To say the least. Some are simple model editations, others are more complex forms of kit-bashing. ((Included also is the Amun Order LF flight frame I half-finished. If anyone takes this on please add the engine FX as a dual system recessed into the back of each wing as I originally intended. :P)) I'm giving these to the community. Free for you guys to use as inspiration, or further edit and kitbash, or just plain finish and submit (as their original intended selves or as new ships. fine by me either way); The single condition being that I get credit for doing the original editing/kitbash work. Also included is my old nav-map project and my old submission for a wiki-logo. The Navmap comes with a paint.net layered file of an older version for the interested. Again, please give credit if you intend to use it somewhere. http://www.mediafire.com/?vten0mhjk5d Thread with some nice pictures; http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...amp;hl=copycats So I suppose thats it... I miss you guys. Pirates rule, lawfuls drool. Do try and find some creative use for these old dinosaurs if'n you please. ;) And Boss? if you're still around good luck with the gate-ship and the Havoc, last I saw you had awesome prototypes! Dump of Old Project Files - Lunaphase - 06-11-2010 hey dude, what ever happened to that ship we were working on? i had a spot for it then you just up and left! Dump of Old Project Files - elgeeko - 06-11-2010 ' Wrote:hey dude, what ever happened to that ship we were working on? i had a spot for it then you just up and left! I still have all 2 or 3 models if you want them, the final version was 98 or 99% done from what I remember.... Still, good luck convincing the developers to implement it. I more or less offered to hand them a rather large set of upgrade ships that were mostly well received and look what happened..... Dump of Old Project Files - Shagohad - 06-11-2010 It's a shame they didn't go through. This game needs to stray away from its nostalgia. Shame to see you go, mate. I'll see what I can do with these. Dump of Old Project Files - elgeeko - 06-11-2010 If I had any of my credits left I'd give them all to you so you could start paying back the 3 billion credit debt you're in because of your 'buy five' policy;) Also, Life lesson number 228, nostalgia in doses larger than .005 cc is bad for you.:P Oh and by the way, there is a Charon small-edit in there (I had intended to re-texture it as well once...) a crack at a Liberty Shuttlecraft thats in a decent state, a weird alien concept ship, and my old Liberty Carrier design. Dump of Old Project Files - Seth Karlo - 06-14-2010 If we ever do use them, I will make sure you are credited. I may make them usable ingame, and maybe submittable someday? -Seth Dump of Old Project Files - tansytansey - 06-14-2010 Quote: I may make them usable ingame, and maybe submittable someday? According to the 'great' Mjolnir, kitbases aren't of acceptable quality. So don't hold your breath. |
