Misplaced Base details - Victor - 10-11-2007 So... went to the bar on the BH base in Omega 15 and first noticed that almost everyone there has a british accent... which I ignored at first. Spoke to a lady (also british) whilst sipping on an ice cold whiskey and was told that there is a jumphole in this system linking towards Tau 31 next door...:huh:... really... I don't think so... It's obvious that when bases was created for the new mods, other original files was used to fill them in... and that it would never be perfect, but using one way across the system ?? Just wondered wether there was other bases with this case scenario as well... Misplaced Base details - Mr_3ppozz - 10-11-2007 most bases that are new have "rumors" from around the galaxy... I think everyone who finds one needs to make a new one to replace the wrong. But i think igiss is the man to speak to with regards of changing that... example-Rostock base Omega 15, rumors on the wrecks that are close, the 41 JH etc etc... that would be best... Also speaking about omega-15 maybe a JG can be made for the rheinlanders.. They have a Bship there, maybe they are expanding from dresden to there... build a second base to set a perimiter and a buffer between the hessians and dresden. Maybe even combat patrols between the 2 rheinland bases including cap-ship patrols... Only a suggestion... + A trade lane between 41 JH and the dresden JH... makes trading more easy ^^ Misplaced Base details - Ion - 10-11-2007 it takes too long writing each individual .ini file. its a little weird but doesn't subtract from the game play.... if someone wanted to take the time to update ALL of the bases bars and weapon dealers etc. Igiss might consider implementing it... but its too much to ask someone to do it. Since i absoluty dont know anything about scripting or modding FL i can only make the rumors untill someone explains me how to edit them;) Misplaced Base details - Victor - 10-11-2007 Well, sounds like your the man who has to contact Igiss if you're really interested. I think he won't mind helping out if you are willing to do the rumor scripts... Puck is right, it doesn't subtract from the game play... but still... a bit weird. EDIT: @ Igiss, i hereby volunteer for the editing of Rumors aboard newly created bases. If you and/or other admins/players can provide me a list of "to change" rumors, i will gladly make some... Although i would have to start traveling and mapping sirius since i really have half a navmap at most:) Misplaced Base details - Dab - 10-11-2007 Most of the time in systems, the modders (inlcuding Igiss) make the base, then copy the base NPCs from the template used. Template is the look of the inside of the base. So for example; Corfu uses the samer template as Freeport 9 I believe. Because it does, the NPCs in Corfu have the same names, rumors, bribes, and news as those in Freeport 9. If you look at the Bartender, you can tell what base the template was used from. I'm currently working on getting base NPC information packaged in a way I can send it to Igiss. Once I do, I plan to go to all the modded-in bases and fix the NPCs so they say the correct base name, as well as edit the rumors. This will take a VERY long time, so it probably won't happen until after the 4.84 final is released, and I will be modding only a few systems (maybe no systems and only bases) during that between-versions time. |
