I think its unfair pirates get to use explorer gunboats and zoner weapons. Anyone else? So their a independent pirate why dont they get to use basic turrets then. They get to have freelancer IFF, and thats okay too. This is a joke.

The Explorer is public to use for anyone, though they would need to request Zoner turrets from the Zoners.
I doubt most of them have permission, and will most likely be told off by the Zoners, especially for using them to pirate Zoners and their close friends.
Really, without asking permission from any factions, Basics are the only Gunboat Turrets they can use I believe, though Zoners might be purple to them on the tech chart, meaning they can use them without asking the Zoners.
Yep, just checked, they can use Explorers and Zoner guns without any permission from anyone.

Though the Zoners are welcome to file a Faction Right #5 and take them away I think, or get you hostile to Zoners. Up to them really.

Does that mean If I am flying in My Zoner ID ship and I see a Pirate with Zoner GB Turrets I can go medieval on his ass, or does he have to be attacking Zoners?

Q_Q the difference in stats is minimal, basics just look boring, so why dont you leave htem players their guns?
stopp Q_Q, he could have killed you with basics just the same, only now he did it in green, with nicely modled turrets, and not boring whitelaser liberty turret knockoffs.
btw, an Eagle/Train etc line Gunboat could be fun, for more unaffiliated pirates, and Shipping escorts in Gunboats, so miners, pirates and escorts all have tools ti fight with, and dont have to cry, oh he killed me with guns he should not have...

The genaric IDs have free use of Zoner weapons. Not sure why actually. It has been discussed on this forum before. The general conclusion was that all purple cells to Zoners be turned white minus the Order and GMG.
Will it happen? Who knows, and I honestly don't care. It gives us something to RP about. I'd just recommend to anyone useing them to not hit a Zoner with them (at least one that uses the forum).
