Battle for Yanagi - Pinko - 06-22-2010 Premise
It has always been the Hogosha's primary goal to remove the Junkers from Sirius and become the main middlemen in Sirius' black market. They have efficiently managed to supress any Junker influence within Kusari, and now it is time to counter-attack. Afraid of hurting their relationship with the Libertonian unlawfuls but picking on the Junkers of Galileo and Kepler, aware that operating in the Taus would be a suicide due to the intensive warzone, and the main Junker base in Sirius being in Bretonia, the Hogosha only see one valid choice: Take over Yanagi station, the center of black market in the Sigmas, gathering the Hispanian, Rheinlander and Kusarian smugglers. Yanagi is a vital asset to the Junkers, and a thorn in the spine of the Hogosha. The Event
The Hogosha's plan is straightforward: launch from Kamakura Base in Okinawa, use the jumphole network to reach Sigma-13 and attack head-on Yanagi station, in hope to surprise the Junkers, overwhelm them and force them to evacuate the station. If they were to win, Kusari will indeed have more control over the GMG, the Outcasts will lose a vital ally in their war against the Corsairs in the Sigmas, and the Hogosha will open their doors to Rheinlanders to commerce with, among others. The Junkers aren't afraid of the Hogosha, though, and know they can easily handle them, especially in their own space. If they were able to wipe out their force, they could easily counter attack and take over Kamakura in retaliation, largely reducing the influence of the Hogosha within Kusari, which will now only have a single base to hide in, and it will give the Junkers an extra supply line to the Crysanthenums and Blood Dragons, greatly helping their situation against the actual Kusarian government. The Outcome
<strike>If the Hogosha were to win their attack against the Junkers in Sigma-13, the Corsairs will quickly come to support the victorious Hogosha and protect them from any possible GMG counter-attack as they take over the station. The Corsairs would, indeed, rather have the Hogosha own Yanagi rather than the GMG, should the remaining of the Hogosha be wiped by one of their patrol. If the Junkers were to repel the Hogosha's attack, they realize the weakened state their longtime foe is in, and mount an immediate counter-offensive with the now warned GMG the Junkers take over Kamakura base in Okinawa. We are aware that it'll take further discussion with the dev team to put these changes into effect, and we are aware that it might not be possible as well.</strike> 1: Transports/Freighters only. 2: Hogosha/Junkers only. 3: No actual loss of any bases, just some added news stories/rumors. Battle for Yanagi - Elven - 06-22-2010 Interesting, but Junkers could also call a "little" backup from Kyoto, who'd turn Hogs into dust pretty fast. I know Junkers'll be surprised, but they can survive for five minutes, I believe? And well, GMG needs activity:P EDIT I can come as ]bd[ or GMG| Battle for Yanagi - Tenacity - 06-22-2010 We did this very event during 4.84, actually. It didnt end very well... kusari ships completely outperform junker ships, and if that wasnt bad enough comparing barragers to drakes is like comparing a pellet gun to a nuclear bomb. Balance is too much of a factor here. Chances are you'd have to get a large number of blood dragons or chrysanthemums helping out the junker side, and I dont think either group would be overly willing to sacrafice their own pilots and ships to help a group of smugglers that lives outside of their space. Still, it was fun when I organized the event before, despite the imbalances. I think it would be a bit more interesting if, rather than focusing on the use of junker and hogosha fighter craft, the battle was predominantly fought by transports - Rabas and Big Dragons against Fireflies, Pirate Trains, and Pirate Transports. Battle for Yanagi - Grumblesaur - 06-22-2010 Transport battle? I'm game. It'd be like fighting with scaled-down cruisers with scaled-down equipment. Sounds like an idea for our /restart server. No other forces allowed. Otherwise this will spiral out of control real quick. Sure Elven the Junkers could call the BD who can beat the Hogosha, so the Hogosha will call the KNF who can beat the BD, the BD will call the GC, the Hogosha will call the FA, the GC will call the Outcasts, the Hogosha will call the Corsairs, etc etc etc. Hogosha vs Junker only. Battle for Yanagi - Rudo - 06-22-2010 I hate to say it, but Tenacity's got a point on the part about ship balance. Junker ships and guns aren't exactly up to the task in terms of fighting off Black Dragons with Disinfectors and Tizonas backed up by Mamorus. The Mamoru bomber out-turns the Collector VHF, and the Bulldog has literally the same maneuvering stats as the Templar. Try those two ships in combat sometime, especially against said BlackDs with Tizonas and Disinfectors. It's tough! Granted, the 4.84 event featured Hogosha Catamarans while the Junkers brought a couple freighters, so the odds were even worse off. Plus I missed that event. If I don't miss this one things might get a little nasty for the Hogosha. :P Battle for Yanagi - Elven - 06-22-2010 ' Wrote:We did this very event during 4.84, actually. Junkers also supply us sometimes. Ah, yes... Sigmas fall into BD ZoI. At least BD Guard ID allows BD to engage terrorists, blablabla within Kusari & Sigmas. ' Wrote:Transport battle? I'm game. Battle for Yanagi - Pinko - 06-22-2010 Well, if you bring the BD or the GMG, we'd be forced to bring the Corsairs, and a big cluster ensues. Way simpler to simply do Junker vs Hogosha. Battle for Yanagi - Tenacity - 06-22-2010 ' Wrote:Transport battle? I'm game. It'd be like fighting with scaled-down cruisers with scaled-down equipment. Definitely, I always had fun fighting in transports =P Picking out ships that are well matched against one another is going to be tough though. The Raba and Pirate Transport are pretty equal in most respects. Raba has a bit more armor, but less firepower, and less cargo space. Both are similar in terms of agility, I think. The Big Dragon, as another ship that could participate on the hogosha side, is slower, less armored, and has less firepower... but would match up relatively well against something like the borderworlds transport or pirate train. Junkers have the salvage frigate, but that really ends up a bit unbalanced in this situation, as it uses gunboat turrets and the hogs dont have anything equivalent. You might be able to throw in the kusari container transport, which has a lot more turrets, but is a much bigger ship. Maybe adding freighters as well could give a bit more variety without overpowering one side or the other. The CSF and the Drone have similar firepower capability, with the drone being more manuverable but less armored. Battle for Yanagi - mwerte - 06-22-2010 ' Wrote::DSalvagerspam!!11bring it |
