Havoc Mk II - Durandal - 06-22-2010

I've tossed these around skype once or twice but never really shown them publicly, so what the hell, it's about time.

Yes, I realize it's basically a Nighthawk in space, but it's what Ageira requested at the time. Bob offered me a hundred million to see it in game, but I doubt I'll be getting that since he no longer leads Ageira. In any case, the models are textured/hitboxed and ready to be hardpointed if ya want.

Havoc Mk II - Marcus Lindberg - 06-22-2010

Ehh to be honest, it kinda reminds of the Stinger, which I'm not a really big fan of. The texturing seems all over the place which no real design in mind, it could be because of the model itself as it seems to let go of the bulkyness it had earlier.

I guess I'm just saying I prefer the one we have right now over the one shown here.

EDIT: Also, it kinda looks like a transformer

Havoc Mk II - BaconSoda - 06-22-2010

'Eh, to be honest, I like the current Havok II better. This one does kinda look like a transformer and, well, there's nothing seriously wrong with the Havok II right now (except that it gets stuck slowdocking with Battleships). I'd rather stick it out with ol' ugly over there in my hanger than stick this mish-mosh in here.

Really, it's the engine part which is the bad part. It just looks way too much like someone who has just gotten up from the can and still has his trousers around his ankles (or kankles, if that's how you roll). That's where the transformer part comes in and, well, most of the ugly.

EDIT: In fact, that whole bridge in the back isn't too appealing. Best to chop it off behind the torpedo tubes and retry the back from there.

Nothing is wrong with the current model?
Have you seen the textures? And the weapons positioning? This model looks much better. I can see more Liberty in it.

No!!!!!!pl0x!! no!!!!!!!!
The current one is fine I say.

Havoc Mk II - Elven - 06-22-2010

Too blocky. I like it more then current Havoc, though.

Havoc Mk II - Camtheman Of Freelancer4Ever - 06-22-2010

Why replace it? Its fine? Perhaps work on something that will add more variety to Discovery?

There have been more and more unneeded replacements recently, its almost as if people simply do not want anything new...

Havoc Mk II - tansytansey - 06-22-2010

I don't think you've really nailed the Freelancer style with this one. It looks really weighted towards the front of the ship, gives it a top heavy feeling, like the back of it is just there for show. It also 'feels' like a very large model, almost like it's supposed to be a Gunboat.

Perhaphs stop blaming someone's work? He's trying to add more variety to Discovery by replacing ugly old Havoc?

It's not fine.
The bar of quality has been risen, and the current model falls far, far below that.
Also it's ugly.

As for the new one, I like it... But I guess it doesn't really meet that level of quality.
I'll talk to Martin about getting you partly reimbursed for your time.
