A couple of questions about the Conneticut sytem - hack - 06-23-2010 For the Admin and Dev teams Consideration: I Have 2 questions about the Connecticut system.... First, Entrance Location... Could it possibly be moved to Say, Magellan, Cortez, or Bering? Having the entrance in NY is again becoming an Issue. People are now using it as an excuse to get out of RP and it's consequences. A couple of times now Players bring Hostile-To-Liberty ships, and when confronted start to rp, but then when they realize that they can not win or are outnumbered, this is what is getting reported: "They appeared, I interdicted, started talking. They ignored me and continued, just saying "//going to Conn"...but only when my backup arrived and he was outnumbered..." It appears that people want to use Connecticut as a "Get out of Consequences" card. I acknowledge the fact that staging attacks from or Running into Connecticut from a fight is OORP and people have been spanked for it..... But can it be used as an excuse to avoid a situation in the first place? A couple of questions about the Conneticut sytem - Dab - 06-23-2010 Admins already had to deal with some people doing this, ended up sanctioning them. Conn is not a get-out-of-jail free card. If they are in an RP, they cannot suddenly abandon it and run to Conn. In the situation you describe, you keep RPing and doing what you do. If they run from NY to Conn while in an interaction, you have every right to chase them and blow them to pieces. On the movement suggestion; I agree. A couple of questions about the Conneticut sytem - Tomtomrawr - 06-23-2010 I'd suggest a more neutral location for the jump hole, where every faction can get to. Or maybe jump holes in each capital systems leading to connecticut, then taking that jump hole again would lead back to the system you entered Conn from. Not sure if that's possible. A couple of questions about the Conneticut sytem - Ash - 06-23-2010 Who said there needs to be just one jump hole? A couple of questions about the Conneticut sytem - SeaFalcon - 06-23-2010 * SeaFalcon is shocked about spazzy's avi change D: About the conn issue. Moving it would help to get rid of a lot of problems. Like RM pilots that want some practice vs others. They have a hard time getting to the JH even if they move around the lanes they still come near Fort Bush. So moving it would be good. Some independent system system. Or making a /conn command? people have to be docked and then can beam themselves to conn. Conn has no JH's anymore. Also when there is a command to beam back they will be put back on the base where they were beamed from. Could that be a possible solution? Would make is easy to access for everyone around Sirius A couple of questions about the Conneticut sytem - Ceoran - 06-23-2010 ' Wrote:Who said there needs to be just one jump hole? Because otherwise it would be abused as shortcut. Also, move it to Baffin. A couple of questions about the Conneticut sytem - Snoozzzer - 06-23-2010 How about putting the jumphole in Penn? Easier to get to sneakily, putting it in the middle of nowhere cuts down on abuse. And it's still in the center of sirius. A couple of questions about the Conneticut sytem - hack - 06-23-2010 A border worlds system right outside of Liberty would be a better idea. Putting it in Penns where the new players start is a really bad idea. A couple of questions about the Conneticut sytem - MrHeadphones - 06-23-2010 Here's a possible idea. Lots of holes in next to major bases (Fort Bush, Waterloo, Planet Crete, etc etc...), no bases inside the system and no holes out. You die, you respawn back in your home system so an FLhook isn't needed to stop people using it as a shortcut. If cannon could make a kind of beam command that beams you to conn and beams you back to the base where you were beamed from. This beam command can only be used when you are docked on a base. This would make all the JH hassle and where conn has to be problems disappear . So if it's an option I would say it's the best. |
