Hey all I'm curious about the Mini Razor. Isn't this a Red Hessian and Zoner weapon? I can't find any info on it now but I thought it was sold at 3 places: 1 RH and 2 Zoner. So who designed it?
And... in general, are all Zoner weapons pretty much up for grabs or do people just take advantage of the word "Free" in "Freeport" to mean all Zoner bases/equipment?

the Nova is also sold on Zoner bases, and as for as I know, the Inferno is only sold on Malta.....

i allways thought the razor was a bretonian weapon.
and for zoner equipment - its not free for grabs, i don t think so. like i said in another post, its just a nasty habit to consider it free for all.
zoner equipment is for zoners - and thats about it. however, they do not have much exclusive equipment anyway. there are a few zoner ships ( mostly ugly homeworld design ), the zoner juggernaut and the fury gun - thats it.
don t mess it up with civilian or outer rim world design ( like the dromedrary ).
about the ships - the upcoming zoner destroyer is pretty much zoner only and allies, the order might be happy about it - allthough they utilize the corsair ships a lot. the GMG will be happy about one, too - allthough there are not many GMG around anyway.
ships like the battlestars are strange - found and redesigned by the zoners - but i don t see a single zoner use one of them. its all IMG.

the zoners are allied to the order, and maybe thats where they get this technology from, and thus get to sell it for their own profit at the freeports. i would classify it as a zoner weapon (the mini razor) but, others may have a different opinion

The Razor in general was developed by the Corsairs after they discovered an artifact on the planet that Yaren station orbits in Omicron Delta.
It is a Corsair gun, but its sold on a Zoner station, making it free game for everyone. The Order developed the nova cannon, but in the new mod version, only the Inferno's are going to be used on bombers for serious bombing. The Nova cannon (Supernova cannon in beta 2) can't keep a cruiser's shield below 6 bars because of the regen of the shield, and the Nova torpedo (beta 2) is pretty useless in general.
The Inferno is only sold on Malta.
EDIT: The consensus is that the Mini Razor is a Zoner weapon. Which is false, if you read the infocards on the capital ship Razors. I assume they are developed from the same technology, so its technically a Corsair weapon.

Zoners have no enemies for a reason. They want to be able to sell their goods to all takers, and their goods include weapons. So pretty much, in an RP sense, things sold on Zoner bases are open to everyone, IMO.

i think there must be a line somewhere. - sure they want to make money. but not with everything - anyway... like i said, there is little zoner exclusive equipment. they often sell FOR others. which is then rather up to the faction that made the stuff to decide ( or thats rather igiss decission ) to put it for sale on a zoner base.

Well that would fit in with the Zoner RP, but not very well with the Corsair RP.
You're right Jinx, a line does need to be drawn, but I think thats in limitations. Corsair ships and weapons should be exclusive to Corsairs and allies, same goes for Outcast and others. But, to start limiting Zoner weapons? How would you even say what those limitations would be... they have no allies. The only way to do it would be to say that only Zoners could have them, which would not fit the Zoner RP. The Zoners maintain nuetrality to all so that they may sell their stuff to all.

While it is true and right that Zoner ships and equipment should be available for all, I think the Zoner capships, Juggernaut and Destroyer, would be kept for Zoners and allies, and maybe a few large organizations. Such as a very large shipping organization buying a few from Zoners to be convoy defenders and armoured transports themselves at the same time.

Um, Silvy (Gaian) has a mini-razor on her ship because of the group's Bretonian origins (Edinburgh) and because of the Gaian alliance with Corsairs...and good standing with Zoners. That's not wrong...is it? >.>
