Takayuki Maeda, Kusari Associate of Lancelot Bank, has made it known that his team will be extending lowered interest rates to the citizens of Kusari given the additional liquidity provided by the Kusari government. At a press conference this afternoon Mr Maeda made the following statement:

"These sudden turns of events show an utter disregard by the powers that be, as to the lives of ordinary citizens, but furthermore to the stability of the Sirius economy. However reprehensible Interspace Commerce's unnecessarily sudden actions may have been I also feel it important to highlight the inbalance that the Kusari government's actions will have in the credit markets. The threats to abscond with property also raises serious issues to any foreign investors who may wish to take an interest in Kusari in future. Such draconian and potentially harsh measures only cultivates a business atmosphere lacking confidence which is not what the Kusari economy needs in the coming months.

Yet returning to Interspace's actions, they were rather too sudden. A slow withdrawl of credit may have been more understandable and appropriate given what is at stake. I would urge the Kusari government and IC to come to some compromise as they will lose much more by not working together. I hope that pride is not an issue for either side.

I'd also like to add that I do believe the business of good government is complex, and if this is the goal that Kusari has, then perhaps there is more than meets the eye. Whatever the case, Lancelot Bank will do its best to serve the citizens of Kusari. It may be a time of austerity but we are all in the same boat, and hope not to disgrace our ancestors' efforts to make Kusari the uniquely cultural and cohesive house that it is today."
