I dont see a reason for a rule that says "you have to fight to death".
You should be allowed to withdraw from a fight if you wish.

For example, when i got attacked in my fighter with a RH BS while carrying a full load on nomad superior brains. I didnt want to be destroyed (It took me a lot of effort to get all those nomad SB), so i withdraw when my shield generator was destroyed.

Restricting access to a system after you are destroyed is a common practice between factions. But the contendants have to agree the terms before the fight.
As an example, i found lancer once in AW space (during the last AW SDF war), i asked him to leave, he refused so i engaged him. After defeating him, he agreed to leave AW space. He could had said "no" instead, and run from me. but he didnt.

The chance of leaving is actually in use. Before attacking, is usually considered polite asking to leave (If faction wars), or asking money/goods (if pirate), or ask the other for a duel.

No. you cant join in the middle of a duel.
IF the battle is a clan event. (Like a fight for a system, etc) you cant join in the middle of it.
If the fight is something like a player being attacked by other player (and it is not a duel or a faction event) you can join in the middle of the battle to defend/help in the attack, if at least 1 of the players (or sides, if there are more than 2 players) who are fighting agrees to that.

I think he's on about tzunami switching from a trader to his fighter when he got attacked by 2 or 3 of them :angry: , as soon as me and titus arrived in system they all left :nono: .

They also attacked annoymous P and I was going to help him when he left the server after running out of tau 29 into kyushu and they followed him, it took me 5 or 6 minutes to get to omicron alpha and by then i guess he got tired of running and being killed.

Yes I was just making my new char and I was oin Manhattan when Titus and marauder complained about 2 pirates who thought the world is all theirs....and I want to say that such tactics are a big shame.I mean people get attacked in their home system and call for help and when reinforcements arrive they F1 out of battle (after they REFUSE to leave the system even if they have no chance).
And the attackers were just some clanless raiders with no respect :(

In fact it was like this: I was in my Wrath waiting for Titus and Marauder to come at the meeting at tau 29 inside the the zoners biodome (It is a bug NOT a cheat, still a general bug not counting for discovery). Thing is that i could attack somebody and not to be attacked( like an invincible turret, i'l tell igiss how i did it and will test himself to see that it is a bug not a cheat) cus the biodome glass was like a barrier and if attaking too much you get enemy with the zoners. As cutlass got there (with sauron) and started attacking me and later other NPCs. I told them that piracy was temporarely restricted because of the meeting (sayed that 4 times). After that i fired a few warning shots but they didn't listen so i got my hugenot. I remembered after i got it that i had over a dozen codenames and nomads on it so i swiched back to the fighter and got out of the biodome and began a fight, fighter vs gunboat and i won the first time. Sauron was leaving at that time. But cutlass returneed, surprized me and knoked me out. (unfortunately for me i had to go to the phone, but real problem was that i got respawned in honshu). That's what happened. But not all. Titus was coming to the meeting through Kyushu-Tau 29 JG and blasted cutlas.... Well that was BS vs gunboat. Well that's all.

If this kind of crap continues, y'all need to inform either me or Igiss.

I would like to say that such actions are possibly in violation of server rules, but there is only *ONE* No-fire zone... that is Manhattan.

Youw ant a meeting, go there. it's safer, HONESTLY to do so in Manhattan, and SF cannot restrict access to Manhattan. at all.

As for the actions of said pirates.. Keep it up, and you might find that the SF, RM, IG and AW will have something in common....
