Sound Problem - [Cerberus] Illusive Man - 07-23-2010
A friend of mine has lately some problems with his Freelancer and because of that he doesnt plays FL anymore.
The problem is that when he logs in the game he doesn't hear any sounds for the exception of the Weapons
No Music and some Effect aren't working.
I searched something on Google about possible FL Sound Issues and I found a problem regarding the Audio Codec Fraunhofer IIS Layer-3 that when updated with programs like VLC or BS Player gives some problems..only for some users.
The tutorial about this Codec Issue said to ''manually remove" the Codec from the Windows Directory..he did that but the problem is still there. NO SOUND.
He tried to uninstall the game and reinstall it..no change
Same to the Audio Codecs of his Integranted Audio Board..
What do you suggest?
Since I quite miss our RP together..

Disabling the 3D sound is for anti-game-crashing. If it is enabled, you crash your pc by using jumpgates sometimes.
But this problem is odd. Maybe try a newer drivers for the soundcard? Perhaps a newer driver for the mainboard? Or a fresh XP-Installation?
I would try that first, before quitting FL.
