Hi guys.
I've install and play Discovery mod 4.85 since the first patch (for openSP only) because i really like to do freelancing with a capital ship (and create of some kind of story for myself :laugh:). It worked really great, but in the advertisement, i saw that we can encounter battleships in some populated systems, and in game, i can only find the fleet of cruisers in alaska and tau - 23 (some small bretonia gunboat). Not just that, in many main system like new york, new london, there are too many civilian ships but it's really rare to see any police or navy patrols. I tried to change some numbers in encounter parameter in the UNIVERSE\SYSTEMS ' s ini but nothing happen. Is this because i am playing openSP? Can you show me how to change something so that my ship can encounter waves of navy and police patrol along with fleets of cruise in many systems like new york, new london, new tokio etc.

I've tried to remove, install fresh version of freelancer and Discovery but nothing changes. I have compared the parameter in data folder with Discovery mod activated and with "battleship encounter" mod activated (this mod works, but i can't use good weapons and ships of discovery) and tried to change some parameter but nothing changes, too :(

any help would be really nice, thanks in advance (and since i'm not an english speaker, i'm not good at english grammar, either, so sorry for any inconvenience :$)

You should be able to see battleships near Manhattan every now and again.

Gallia is full of them. Look around Nevers and Marne.

Nevers has more transports, I see more Gallic cap patrols around the Beuvray or Carcassonne.

If you mess with the right numbers, you should see more patrols. You're looking for something like this:

encounter = area_defend, 16, 0.400000

That last number is the chance that a patrol spawned will be of that class. The game will then check the faction weighting for that patrol type and decide accordingly, but with cap patrols you shouldn't need to worry about that. Make sure that when you're messing with those numbers, you don't push the total above 1.0.

that the code after i change some number about capitalships_liberty. All civilian ships don't appear but there's still no big liberty ships:(Since i install the discovery (before i change any number) i've never seen any cruisers or battleships in the space of new york:(please do you have any more suggestions?

Replace everything after "relief time" to the following:

See if that works.

As far as i know the BS NPCs are serversided only and were not planned to be in SP.

Nope. The Battleship NPCs are intended for both SP and MP.

So, is there anyway i can encounter cruisers and battleships in populated systems? Because in openSP, i can encounter them in alaska, and when playing online, i can see them in many systems:(Do i need to create a server on my computer and play with it or must change something? I compared parameters of alaska and new york and tried to change some of new york (manhattan) but still no cruiser, no battleship, even no police patrol spawn:(

The only solution is to start a local server.

I have checked this and there are indeed no captial encounters (even with modified inis) in OpenSP.
I can remember that Igiss stated that the mod is not OpenSP compatible but i dunno why now.

After some testing i found out that the cap encounters are ignored in front of New York and New Tokyo but there are cap encounters in Hiroshima.
Even after adding a new zone the cap encounters are ignored - in OpenSP.

I guess it has something to do with overlapping zones or the trade lanes but i need to check this out in detail later.
