Question about modding money. - Sorden - 11-21-2007

I saw that on the mod manager version 1.4 beta 4 that you could only modify the starting money and location to set amounts on single only, but I see posts about modifying starting money on the servers here. How does one do this?

I would greatly appreciate some good answers on this, since my friends and I are kinda scratching our heads to figure out how to do this.

Well, you cant modify anything with the Mod Manager. All it does is allow you to install mods into FL. Secondly, with the Disco mod you can only modify starting credits and locations either on Open SP or when creating your own server. The amount of money you have on these servers is set to 8500 and that is server side and cannot be changed by anyone other than the admins... and no don't ask them to do so.

Right, reading comprehension helps when you're trying to be an Admin.

Anyhow, my friends and I are using this mod on a PRIVATE server of our own for our own use. It's not like we're coming on to your server, though with the way the admins seem to act here I wouldn't want to play on said server anyhow. All my friends and I are trying to do is access the features that this site says we are supposed to have access to for our own servers, as in being able to change starting money, changing uniforms, etc.

If you're going to ban me for using a mod that's supposed to be customized, then I fail to see where I'm the stupid one.

When you install the MOD< you get a popup window. Within the list of options is one to increase the amount of credits new players start with. The default is 8500. To increase this, click on the amount to open a drop-down menu.

Now this is for the multiplayer options? I know the one in the Mod Manager only applies to single player.

Well, there are 3 sets of options.

The first set is for client-side stuff.
The second set is for servers, that's what you want.
The last ones are OpenSP options.

Thanks for the help, seems like the guy who is running the server we're playing on may have done something weird upon installation to where he can't control the server to his specifications. We'll post results on our findings.

EDIT: It seems we were right on this. We ran it as a WINRAR file instead of an installation by itself. We now have serverside editing that we wanted from the beginning.
