SR-71 "Blackbird" - FGDireito - 09-07-2010 Hello  so... i already had this idea for sometime now, but i forgot and in the other day i was watching Tv and a documentary about this babe pops up but going straight to the point: The Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" is an advanced, long range, Mach 3 strategic reconnaissance aircraft. The SR-71 line was in service from 1964 to 1998, with 12 of the 32 aircraft destroyed in accidents, though none were lost to enemy action. Since 1976, it has held the world record for the fastest air breathing manned aircraft, a record previously held by the YF-12. in my opinion this machine looks more with a spaceship then with a regular airplane... so my idea was if someone could model it (since i dont know a thing about that) and submmit this sexy looking machine. maybe change it a bit... i think it could replace the Havoc Mk II - XB-2 Civilian Bomber, since (imo) the havoc looks a bit out-dated compared with most ships that we have in the mod, or i dont know, to be a new addition to the mod ![]() ![]() so what is your opinion? should someone model it?
yes i know that this thing dont have anykind of weaponery or what so ever, but i think it would be a great bomber to the mod, or a fighter also notice that have 2 cockpits, so RP can be increesed... meh... its just an idea and  sorry for my bad english... SR-71 "Blackbird" - pedro182 - 09-07-2010 wow that would be a awsome idea, its way better than that bomber Havoc hehe SR-71 "Blackbird" - Fellow Hoodlum - 09-07-2010 Though it's unfortunately not going to happen, as I expect everyone else to tell you why in due course. SR-71 "Blackbird" - Boss - 09-07-2010 Import. Do not want. SR-71 "Blackbird" - FGDireito - 09-07-2010 ' Wrote:Though it's unfortunately not going to happen, as I expect everyone else to tell you why in due course. :unsure:hum... ok then, just trying to give ideas. in that case i guess that this therad can be deleted ' Wrote:Import. we have some star wars ships i think... SR-71 "Blackbird" - Crusader4 - 09-07-2010 :nono:
Everything that isn't original (new) won't get in Disco  SR-71 "Blackbird" - Eppy - 09-07-2010 Essentially, yes. It would be epic, but it's an import ship (albeit from RL). While basing a ship on something IRL is one thing we're talking about a blatant ripoff, and that's not cool with the dev team. Beyond that, the Blackbird is too recognizable. Also, I'm just going to point out that the YF-12 essentially is an SR-71, as is the A-12 before it. And those purple curvy lines coming out of it in the picture at the bottom? That's jet fuel. It gets so hot that it's intentionally built to leak fuel to compensate. This fuel's flashpoint - it's called JP-7 - is 60 degrees Celsius. It is used as a coolant before it is combusted. This gas is BAMF. EDIT: Also, there is an ongoing effort to get rid of the SW/Freeworlds ships. We've actually got a lot less than we used to. SR-71 "Blackbird" - Serpentis - 09-07-2010 Ok.. Since i'm a nice guy, i'm going to be gentle. Existing models that are Imports (SW models, HW models etc.) are being replaced little by little, since Discoveries models are supposed to be Freelancer styled, that means: Custom models based upon existing freelancer ships. If there is no ship-line then one of our many talented non-payed modelers will take their time to model a ship-line for discovery, much like Jinx have done for the BHG (cap) line, which used to be SW imports all of them. So, for existing planes that exist in present day, the Mod doesn't need a model based upon that plane, even if it's AWESOME. The Havoc is (if im not misstaken) a custom model, that may need a new model eventually.. But, that isn't the point. Point is, no.. Ok gents, there is no need to +1 in this thread a lock I think would be in place? SR-71 "Blackbird" - Cris - 09-07-2010 ' Wrote:we have some star wars ships i think... Which are being changed SR-71 "Blackbird" - yurineova - 09-07-2010 Its a good design, yes, but 2 problems 1; isnt freelancerish (needs more boxy corners unstead of slipstream curves) 2; isnt original. sorry but no |
