NEW starters to the server.
Go start to dublin and mine 20 pieces of gold from the field at map section H4.
Warning the field is packed with explosive mines.
DO NOT fly blindly straight into the field.
Stay on the outter edge.
once collecting/mining 20 pieces of golden return back to newyork system.
Sell your gold at detroit station(ONLY) at over 10,000 a piece profit.
That roughtly 200,000 profit.
Its a great flying start for any new player.

That one is old. It is a good route indeed, but there are some problems en route, my friend:

Dublin, Bretonia space and California are full of pirates these days. Not to mention the Molly players...;)

But i talked to someone, who mined there with a Hegemon. raw profit around 30mil. I didn't done this though.

Yeah, but you can't pirate low level players.
So that isn't an issue for them.

Because, what the guy was trying to say that it is a good way for new players to make some decent money.

If you're that hell-bent on getting your first cash with mining gold ore, write /restart bretonia, go to Dublin with your free CSV, mine 180 units of ore and then sell it at Detroit.

True. But as they make more money, they're going to want to use that money to make even more. So they'll buy bigger ships.

That's when we'll get them. *Grins*

A better way is to use the /restart command and get the CSV, with its 180 units of cargo, mine and sell gold/silver. In one trip you will enough to get onto a bigger cargo ship. Then if you want mine once more and you can be in smaller transport ships (ideal one is bumblebee). You can then start trading and slowly upgrading you ship to better cargo capacity.

Thank you so much! Your tips have been great help to me.

I was still deciding whether to mine or trade but after reading this it seems like mining is better. Are there any risks and dangers I should know about?

Mining pro's: Higher profit then trading, especially if you use dedicated haulers to haul off the ore and share profit. The mining ships are often well armored and armed, therefor capable of selfdefense... to a degree.
Mining cons: Slower, and you're static while you are filling your hold.
The mining locations are often well known to pirates, so expect a visit every now and then. But, if you go boom, you do not lose money, only time. You will however be barred from mining in that system for the next 4 hours if you die.

Trading pro's: You can do it pretty much anywhere. If one system is pirate infested, go elsewhere where it's safer. You have a very high degree of freedom. Going boom won't bar you from continuing trade, even in the same system.
Trading con's: If you go boom you lose the investment in the cargo you have. Lower average profit then mining. And you'll have to find optimal trading routes... The prices have been modified serverside so using "assistant" applications won't be very helpful to you.

Personally, I favor mining. But then again, I favor mining over pewing even.
