Well just got back into freelancer and have to say awesome server,
now i have a problem, yes i have vista but its not like the other problems mentioned on the forum, basically when i log in to most servers i get into the game, im on new york, go to space, then the red disconnect icon keeps popping up and disconnecting, the strange thing is, is that one of my players i can log in and play with no problems (slight lag but thats prob just me) where as i switch to a new player and it has the red disconnect icon then finally disconnects, this happens on most servers, very strange. I have uninstalled firewall and tried running with just windows firewall. Anyone got any ideas?

So you've turned off your Firewall... Have you turned off Windows Defender? And do you have Norton or McAfee installed?

I have the same problem..It could be about the modem's firewall not only the system you are running on your PC. And it could need special optimization, concerning to disable modem firewall or enable some specific ports..

Never had norton or mcaffee on this computer at least, i got a new pc you see and went for vista, i had avg although i took that off to see if it solved the problem, special optimiazation? possibly could it be my router? and may have to forward certain ports? also anyone know the ports to open with freelancer? i will give this a try? more suggestions always welcome!. Also i am in need of a new firewall and antivirus which will work with freelancer! any suggestions? very strange problem
Ok update just tried turning firewall and defender off, no such luck, so strange that i can play with one character yet soon as i change i get the red icon and disconnect

no other suggestions? sorry to bother guys its just something i would like to fix as it stops me playing on other characters or other servers. Also if i have to possibly port forward anyone know the ports?
