I've seen numerous gunboats lately. Of those, only a couple of them weren't heavily abusing cerberus turrets. By which I mean that 3/4 or more of their loadout consisted of Cerberus turrets. To me, that's like all those traders that crowded the Harris-MacDuff route in the last days before the new mod was updated. They knew the route was about to be removed, so they spammed it and hired mercs in a desperate effort to make a few more easy credits. We all know Cerbs will have their energy usage upped in the next mod version, so why does it seem that everybody loads up with Cerbs? Are these people really that desperate for a few extra kills, that they'd sacrifice RP to do so?

I know that some people used all-Cerb loadouts before, but I don't think there were near as many as there are now. And I'm quite sure that many of these people are simply taking advantage of the erroneously extreme energy consumption reduction.

So, people, for the sake of RP please stop abusing Gunboat Cerberus turrets.

People will because some people won't. This would ask those who WOULD remove them to simply die if they come against any other GB. I don't like the current Cerbs either. They need at least 8,000 energy usage, not the 4,000 or so they use now. My advice; Wait for the next beta. Get your own Cerbs if your going to use a GB. If we could expect everyone not to use cerbs, we could all go without them until they were fixed, but I bet only 1/6th of the people would actually get rid of the cerbs, leaving the 5/6ths to easily kill that 1/6.

Ok, Try 8 Order gunboat guns on a Corsair gunboat and see what happens... No energy drain whatsoever.

I used to have an ub3r pw|\|Z0rZ (jokeing, but it was pretty good...) loadout for my Corsair gunboat which I shared with many people, but now its either, missiles, heavy guns, or cerberus'. Seeing as the Cerberus' are the most efficient out of the three and can be used on both fighters (to an extent) and capital ships, they are the only viable gun at this time...

By the same logic, the Harris-MacDuff run rendered all other trade runs useless in the last beta. C'mon, people...of my three gunboats, I only have cerbs on one of them, and it's only two of its six turrets. I don't have codenames on any of my fighters, and am getting rid of the Nomad guns on my Gaian bomber.

I'd rather lose a bit more often than use the most powerful weapons simply because they are the most powerful. With all due respect, isn't this an RP server? So shouldn't we at least try to have RP loadouts for our ships? Yet we have everyone using cerbs, lawful traders with Salamanca and Tizona turrets, etc...

I totally agree, the people doing this are LAME. All my gunboats have no more than 3 on them for this same reason.

I think that 14k per shot is to much though, they need to be brought up to maybe 10k at most, that will stop the people using more than 3 on there gunboats.

i have on my gb 3 cerbs,but before when they need 14000 enrgy per shoot,i was having 2 cerbs on my gb.and i was still able kill stronger ships.so when the energy come back to 14000 i only remove one.not all people use now cerbs because they are so good now,some people used them before.but i still say make them the same energy need as before 14k per shoot.

Know why the plea will not work? Cause we did this with Harris-McDuff. Did it work? I dunno, maybe a few more people went there. How did we limit it? I think Tony started to sanction people for OORP or something. Even then, there were still people there.

Like Igiss said, the only way to keep people from abusing, is to eliminate the option.

But Lancer, your sentiment is applaudable.

I have a rheinland Gunboat, and even before the mod came out (Beta 4) I had 4 cerbs and 2 missles. Even now I am still having energy toubles, but not as bad as before. If you guys define this as Cerb abusing, then I'll take em down. However, dont nerf the gun because of a couple spoilers.

It has messed up the balance though, because now with 4-5 cerbs mounted a gunboat can take a cruiser without braking a sweat.


I dont think they should go all the way back up to where they where (14k), somewhere around 10k will stop most people mounting more than 3.
