Newest Version of Clan Wars - Virus - 01-06-2006

THE War Rules Wrote:There may be more than one battleship to system-claim war, and there may be more than one system-claim war in a Faction war.

BOTH

-Both sides have any number of members fighting.
-Both sides can have as many mercenaries and allies as wanted.
-Each player must be killed 3 amount of times to be eliminated from the battle.
-The faction who's players are all eliminated loses the battle.
-Players with capital ships(battleships, gunboats, and cruisers) may use them.
-A capship may ONLY be used as a starting ship, therefore, you cannot switch to a capship once you have used a fighter.
-You may not go from capship to another capship. (i.e. Battleship to gunboat, and vice versa)
-All ships, including capships, can use nanobots and shield batteries.
-No one, I repeat, no one is allowed to F1. If someone does so, they are immediately disqualified from the battle.

ATTACKER

-Must give a minimum of two days warning when declaring war. Must state what system, and a good time for a battle. If the defense agrees with the time, the battle is set.

DEFENDER

-Chooses where in the system the first battle is to take place. If there are to be more than one battle, attacker and defender switch off choosing where, in the system that is being seiged, to fight.

To commence a war:

-Faction leaders must agree on a time, if one side puts it off for too long, they lose by default. This does not include absences both in-game and on the forums. Life happens.
-Faction leaders may choose to have an outside referee to count deaths.
-Faction leaders decide how many battles there are to be. One to infinite. Your choice.
-No one may go to war for the system twice within a week.

This is my last attempt to do this. I have no permission from Igiss to do this, nor anyone else. I hope that enough people will see reason and say that we need rules for system wars.

I hope this is good enough for all of you.

Quickly summed Wrote:All players have three deaths.
You may use capships as your starting ship ONLY.
F1ing isn't allowed.

Pretty good Virus and yes, I agree we need rules or people will bicker about who won or cheated the other longer than the battle itself was fought. Igiss should give you permission by the way. I have also posted an idea but it needs alot of work done on it and I would like to see some feedback. Its in a thread (i forgot which but you'll see it, its the same one that virus announced he had posted an idea too. Also my mantanence idea i posted would work with this. But the repairs and mantanence for damages would only count the damages/destroyed ships in the first fight, not the ones after it. That way there aren't three times as many fees as there should be.

That's exactly my point. Up until the money thing. That is your point that I'm nuetral to.

I see no problem with them, other then the usual thing about actually getting the new clan to read them.

The rules are pretty good, but they only mention big battles. What about minor skirmishes and ambushes ? ;)

Well another thing: i would sugest a rule like this: If a player is attacked by NPCs no F1ing. Beacause that is a clan's enemy, but something like: a house clan MUST be enemy with the criminal factions and vice versa.

But what about NPCs that attack u because of the nova's splash damage?

In such case the rule is not to F1.
If you are in a fighter and you detect an enemy in a BS, you should be smart enough to avoid it. After all, he will appear in your sensors arround 10k away. so you are plenty of time to make evasive action.
In other words, take care of yourself, watch where the enemy is in order to avoid it.

I like the rules. But you should add a "If a player is killed, he cant switch to a bigger ship than the previous one". That will avoid a player in a fighter to respawn in a BS.

I don't agree with you here.

Wouldn't that be the player's choice whether to start with a BS or a fighter. Having the choice would add strategy (do I bring in the BS now or save it for later).

Besides, technically wouldn't someone have to encounter fighters first before a BS so it would be more realistic to have the fighter first then the BS second.

My point is leave people the choice, if someone has a BS for a war let them choose when to bring it out, given that under these rules they can only bring it in once anyways.

I would first use my bomber. It has 4 tizonas that could take the other BS' shield down. Then of course dual novas...

There pretty good, Id work with them.
