Task Force Seven Faction Information

Commanders:
Heather Cain (Miranda)
Allison Cain (Russell Q_Q)
Jordan Lee (LONGBOW)

History:
Formed under the Special Operations Division of the Liberty Navy in 816 A.S., Task Force Seven was established to serve as a mobile Battle Group capable of deep strike and independent operations in the borderworlds and beyond. Answerable directly to the High Command, the task force draws pilots and warships from the Secondary Fleet and subjects them to intense training regimens to ensure they have the proper skills for dangerous, and often deadly missions behind enemy lines. Currently operating primarily out of the Hudson System, Task Force Seven keeps a close eye on Atka and the Trade Lanes that link Liberty and Rheinland. However, reserve units are often dispatched back into Liberty space to assist the fleet with internal threats, especially the recently prolific Scylla destroyers.

Current Status (12/9/10)
While Operations are generally highly classified, reports indicate that Task Force Seven has begun to draw some of its assets away from the Rheinland front, speculation remains that the task force is preparing to launch some sort of operation in the Omicrons to respond to increasing attacks by the Order into New York

Diplomacy:

Sub-Units:
Battlefleet - The Battlefleet and its divisions contain the primary warships of the Task Force. Each is organized for mission-specific purposes based on the current deployment. Certain units are also permanently tasked with protecting Task Force assets such as protecting the Fleet Carrier.

242nd Suicide Kings -
Founded as an Interceptor wing, the 242nd prides itself on the protection of the fleet’s vital warships. In addition to simply fighting back hostile bombers, the nimble fighters earn their nickname by swarming enemy warships, distracting their gunners and making them easy prey for the Raptors.

64th Raptors -
While Task Force Seven has vast capital firepower to draw on, there are many missions where a warship will garner too much attention, or be too slow, the Raptors provide an answer to that, able to strike deep into the enemy’s hard to destroy and scatter enemy fleets before they can form ranks.

134th Barracudas -
The 134th specializes in stealth, and recon operations. Using the Arrow Light Interceptor exclusively, they use speed to infiltrate deep into enemy lines to gather intelligence and make it out safely. This is a small squadron, as only a few pilots are brave enough to be assigned to a "flying coffin"

Ships used:
Liberty Carrier - Since the Task Force is by its nature mobile, it needs to restock and resupply on the go. Often operating outside the range of normal facilities, a solution was needed. The Liberty Carrier provided an effective answer, refitted for enhanced repair and medical capabilites, Task Force carriers sacrifice the firepower and armor of their traditional counterparts, turning them into mobile, vulnerable star bases.
Liberty Dreadnought - Mostly used as Command Ships, the Dreadnaughts are used to lead battle groups and act as control centers during missions. Kept in reserve, these massive vessels provide a crucial, devastating punch to support the cruiser lines in battle.
Liberty Assault Battlecruiser - A new vessel with a mixed reputation, the Battlecruiser has nonetheless been adopted whole-heartedly by the task force. Its heavy firepower and narrow profile allows it to charge enemy cruiser groups confidently, to scatter them and allow for quick destruction.
Liberty Siege Cruiser - The bread and butter of any Liberty fleet, the Siege Cruiser forms the backbone of the task force, using their massive forward guns to quickly dispatch enemy warships, while simultaneously keeping them at range, and avoiding fire thanks to their tiny profile.
Liberty Gunboat - Arguably the most versatile ship in the fleet, the archaic but still prolific gunboat has a dual role in Task Force Seven. Often used to keep capital warships safe from bombers, they are also capable of tearing apart enemy ships with their forward guns when hunting in wolfpacks.

Li-117 Liberty "Upholder" Bomber - The primary ship of the 64th Raptors, the Upholder is used for deep strikes on enemy warships, neutralizing them or forcing them to flee before they can engage the Battlegroup.
XB-2 "Havoc Mk II" Civilian Bomber - Despite being technologically inferior to the newer Upholder, many Havoks still remain in service, cared for by the veteran pilots that have become too attached to give them up.
BDR-845 "Avenger" Liberty Very Heavy Fighter - A new development, the Avenger sees limited use in the Task Force as a strike craft, fielding powerful miniaturized razors to quickly cut through the armor of enemy gunboats.
BDR-804 "Guardian" Liberty Very Heavy Fighter - The primary fighter of the 242nd Suicide Kings, the Guardian is an excellent all around Space Superiority Fighter. Squadrons of them are used constantly to ensure that the Battlegroup does not fall prey to enemy fighters.
LZF-9805 "Liberator" Liberty Light Fighter - A limited use ship in the task force, the Liberator provides a small, nimble scout ship that can slip behind enemy lines to gather intelligence for the fleet.
CLI-11000 "Arrow" Civilian Light Interceptor - Mostly mothballed by the fleet at large, the Arrow was recently pulled from storage due to its tiny profile, and speed exceeding that of even the vaunted Liberator. Used solely by the 134th Barracudas as a recon ship.

EL-HiL51 "Mammoth" Liberty Transport - Combat operations require constant resupply of men and material, and the dependable Mammoth is the ship of choice for making sure that these vital supplies make it through unharmed. Many an unwary pirate has found themselves the victim of its superior defensive weaponry.
DL-Hai "Grizzly" Liberty Shuttle - Sometimes battlefield casualties are too severe for limited field medicine, the Grizly is used to get these wounded heroes back to fleet hospitals in safety.
Repair ship - Without access to a shipyard during missions in deep space, there is a constant need for field repairs. The dependable repair ship allows damaged warships to be restored to operational status without having to leave the theatre of combat.

Technology and ID:
Task Force Seven makes use of Liberty Navy technology as well as the Navy/Guard ID. Exceptions to this are subject to approval by TF7 command and the Primary Fleet. Task Force Seven operates within the Navy ZOI with the exception that the Omicron worlds may only be entered with permission of the Primary Fleet.

I've fought you guys twice so far. One in conneticut one in NY. One on my LH GB "The.Vessel" the other on Smeagle. Both were very entertaining.

Hope to see ya guys in-game even more.

:)

Task Force Seven - Miranda - 12-10-2010

Thanks, and I remember The.Vessel, something about that name spooks me.:PWe're currently trying to draw more players in from the legion of listless indies that float around New York, but weeding out the "die pirat" ones is time intensive. Hopefully in the future we'll be more active to provide as best a Navy experience for Disco as possible.

Task Force Seven - Total.Absolution - 12-10-2010

@Verminator: HOLY CRAP YOU ALREADY HERE

@ The TF7: Being actually in that, I feel like the saying of "You're your own worst critic" applies well.

I feel that right now, it is going pretty well, although there is some things that could have the edges smoothed out. One thing, is that we have more caps then fighters/bombers. That needs to change, I encourage ALL TF7 MEMBERS to maintain AT LEAST one guardian/avenger. Liberator's for the different, and if you can afford it, a cupholder/havoc. Since we are Liberty based, we kinda need to clear our name of the "Caps first fighters second" theme that happens there.

We're hated more than the SCRA! Also, good luck out there. The world of factions is tough.

I would know, I've (tried to) ran two.

Haha. Ya, the weeding is always difficult.

Task Force Seven - Samuel Zanders - 12-10-2010

The TF7 had some ups and downs. But it seems they are getting better by each day. When a lot of new members come, you can't simply expect a Faction to be perfect just like that, it will take time. But I'm happy to see you are improving, in all aspects of gameplay. Your leaders are reasonable and are willing to listen, I'm glad we have a solid cooperation.

Task Force Seven - Jeremy Hunter - 12-10-2010

Where can I get an application?

Ive RPd with you and you guys are good rpers. Its nice to see people in Liberty who aren't official who don't go OH GOD RELATED TO ORDER DAI!!!!!7

Task Force Seven - Alley - 12-10-2010

When I encountered the TF7 for the first time I was a bit septical, but after many events and things I've seen from you, you totally have my support for the future and I hope you'll last long.

Although as said Samuel up there, you should keep an eye on your newest recruits. The Liberty Navy roleplay is a tough one and since your faction is not official, your battleships have less freedom than the [LN] one and I think it could be a good thing to have some kind of behavior document (google document ?) your member could rely on if they're not sure how to interact in a situation (like no shooting transports, even p-trans in cruiser/bs or things like if order = escort back to minor, if refuse to cooperate blow it up.)

Good luck and see you in space:)
