Newbies - marauder - 01-09-2006 Ok, a new person logged into the server as HooD.ru and he asked me for some money (20 million) to help him, in pretty clear english. When I answered saying I haven't got that much he started saying he didn't understand. After Titus had left, we had been practising in connecticut, I switched to my Phantom character and he asked me again for some money, I told him that none of my characters have that much (which they don't or I'd have quite happily given it to him) I then asked him if he had registered on the forum and he went nuts, saying he'd atack me if I wanted him to register and generally throwing a tantrum. I then asked him if he had read the rules and he went nuts again, saying (I think) that he was russian, and then he typed something in russian (again I think) and something about me being funny, and that he didn't understand. I'm not complaining about this happening, I just wanted people to know about it. And that he doesn't know the rules and (I'm pretty sure) he has no intention to read them. So don't be surprised if he causes some trouble. Anyhow I think it might be a good idea to discuss whether or not to raise the starting money as the ships are so expensive and it takes forever to make any money trying to trade in a rhino (trust me I know, I tried it). Newbies - Wolfpack98 - 01-09-2006 I gave that kid 20 million the other day.. And he was attacking Vtec (the bank) as well. I think it's time for Server Admin intervention. He is only one guy in a ship, and he is not violating any rule (as far as i know). But he should register in forums ans read the rules. About the 20mill thingy... i guess that he is collecting money from various chars (if he borrowed wolf money before marauder) so he can make his own fortune without having to trade... If he attacks me, i will give him a few novas (if he can catch them, he can sell them to get some money ;)) Newbies - Wolfpack98 - 01-09-2006 Korrd,Jan 9 2006, 11:12 AM Wrote:I dont think server admin intervention is necessary. Opening fire in New York is server-ban warrantable. :) however, any player I catch having an open warfare in NY against another player.. regardless of the reason Gets one chance to cease and desist before I punt them manually. Newbies - daedalus - 01-09-2006 I don't like to give newbies any money, not because I'm mean (or poor) but because I think it takes the fun away. I think new players are more likely to stay with the server if they've earned the cash themselves. It doesn't take very long to get to gunboat/train level. Newbies - Firebird - 01-09-2006 I think 20mil is a bit much, if I give money to someone its around a mil or two just to get them a good fighter/freighter. They can then earn the rest to get their larger ship. Newbies - Dab - 01-09-2006 I give them just 3mil for a freighter or VHF. Newbies - Angel - 01-10-2006 Same, ive nerver given out more than 3, Due to the fact it kills gameplay and ill go broke if i hand out more. Newbies - Igiss - 01-10-2006 Don't give money to anyone. Only give if they are ready to join faction and you wish them to equip themselves faster. I'd gladly ban this guy if you can prove rule violation. Moving >> topic to Discovery forum. Newbies - marauder - 01-10-2006 I never gave him any, which (I think) was why he was so annoyed. |
