Taus problems.. A civil word? - Chenzo- - 12-29-2010

Read calmly guys, won't hurt too much..

This thread is about the player-relationship of the members of the community who choose to roleplay as Outcasts and those who choose to roleplay Miners/CR.

Now, where as a healthy bit of competitivness is all fun and good, it gets a bit out of hand when members of one group turn their back on another member of the community as they choose to roleplay another at a differant time.

The "hate" comes out of the game completly, then scoreing a +1 on absolutly anything becomes the drive to play here. This is surly wrong?

Taking the above breakdown and putting it into what it means directly, you have certain people being kicked from player-factions because they are in "the opposing team's faction aswel".

This is where more things like metagaming and more hate in general occours. resulting in sanctioning people just because you over heard a conversation by accident... Not offending the person at all, but hey, "It's +1"

This is happening more and more frequantly, members of the community's reqests being turned down new faction oppertunitys "because they are a member of a particular group" or as mentiond before: "You have been removed from this group because you lead a raid against us" (four people affected this evening ?

So anyway, This "hate" used to be between the outcast/corsair players (which is still hating over in the dev teams) What happend to that hate ?

Well, people got fed up and hit new areas, mixed in liberty/rheinland/kusari.. and now the miners have the same arguments...

(Oh, also a massive Kudos to groups like the |Sails who opend up such a awesome player-bound for both "sides" of the community, promoting a good turn of things, instead of the old bad.)

You were removed because your behaviour wasn't of the standard expected for someone as experienced as yourself.
Said behaviour:
Contributing very little to the faction and infact disrupting and upsetting many members of said faction.
Leading completely unfair and possibly 'gank' like raids against other players.
Consistently leaving said faction and returning.

Those 3 reasons are really the core of why you were removed.
Leading a raid that everyone seemed to describe, aside from the larger force oddly enough, as a "ganking", was the last straw.

This is not about you leading a raid against the CR, I don't really give an arse about that, I blast CR folks regularly on my own Outcast characters.

It was the behaviour you displayed towards your fellow players.

It is just a game but you are not the only one playing it.

Errm, I was clear not to mention players in particular because it brings it back to a personal basis dude.

All of what you mentiond is complete nonsence. I try to contribute but am refused the ability to so so. (forum work) Reguardless, it seems you completly missed the point of what was said above to the community and not yourself as a indicvidual. You instead brought the argument here. Please don't post if you wish to argue.

I posted this as you have the belief that your boot was caused by OOC hatred etc.
It wasn't.

I'm not entirely aware of the OC side of the Tau situation but on the CR side of it I try to keep OOC hate out of the faction. Any decision that looks even slightly motivated by it doesn't go ahead.
We have some pretty..motivated players in the CR that do clearly have OOC issues with other factions however I personally endeavour to ensure it does not come to affect the CR's behaviour ingame.

I understand this thread was addressed to the whole community but it would be wrong not to point out the motivation behind it.

Some cleaning up within the official factions that is involved with what is termed "The Tau Problems" is to be expected. If done properly with a keen eye on character judgement the Taus might not be labeled as such anymore (or at the very least no official factions would be contributing to it).

There is still much fun to be had! Just fly something agile enough to dodge 5 people untill you can run to Cali/Java on your own.

It's what I try to do.

The Taus are like a big playground, the CR are that massive group of kids that're all from the same foreign nation that speak in a different language and point as you wander by, and try to beat you up because you look funny. The Outcasts are the organised bullies with the bad attitude that smoke dope behind the toilets, 'n' really don't care about anything but your lunch money or your hot girlfriend.

The IMG are that -group- of nerds who got their favourite hangout taken over by the obnoxious group of foreign kids, and then found out that they could still hang around - if they did homework for all the obnoxious foreigners.

Then you have all the independent miners, these guys are the ones that wander around alone, or with a single friend in the playground. The stoned bullies like to pick on these guys more than the organised nerds (because the nerds learned to carry pepper-spray and the foreigners will protect their new 'assets'). They bitch and whine about taking crap, yet they never stand up to the bullies because they're incapable of it - except when they call their tank of a brother to beat the stoners senseless.

This is Tau-23, it's an immature, sick, disturbed place, but it's an ecosystem that cannot be disturbed.
