Terraforming/Planetforming and wars. - Diabolicus - 01-06-2011 How does that work? Terraforming/Planetforming and wars. - Lobster - 01-06-2011 I am afraid you are going to have to elaborate on that. Terraforming/Planetforming and wars. - Diabolicus - 01-06-2011 Take that planet in Tau-31 (or anyway, the Tau Leeds is connected to), is it still being planetformed? How about that planet in Hudson? If memory serves well, it was being planetformed for Liberty, too. Terraforming/Planetforming and wars. - Bobthemanofsteel - 01-06-2011 Atka is in the NML, so I doubt it. Harris is within the Bret front, so maybe, maybe not. There's still a bunch of people on it, and a BS stationed there, so it'd be safe to assume so, else they would have evacuated long ago, methinks. Terraforming/Planetforming and wars. - Cameron - 01-06-2011 The terraforming of planet Atka hasn't started yet. Planetform has a station there ready to go, but the war makes things there too dangerous to kick off fully. Planet Harris is still being terraformed, or at the very least the climate is being maintained by Planetforms efforts. Harris is a lost cause though. The planet is unable to support an ideal atmosphere due to atmospheric bleeding. (reference rumours in the bar) Terraforming/Planetforming and wars. - AeternusDoleo - 01-06-2011 Terraforming is not a fast process. It takes decades at least - and extensive planetwide facilities. These facilities potentially could be bombed, but they have no military value. The main problem in planetforming in wartime is likely going to be supply - it will take huge amounts of supply to terraform a planet, and especially silver transports are valuable. I imagine terraforming would be slowed or paused, but not abandoned. Terraforming/Planetforming and wars. - Coin - 01-06-2011 whats that planet in edinburgh that planetform have been toying with since vanilla? Terraforming/Planetforming and wars. - Coin - 01-06-2011 yeah, that. we turn that into a planetform base in '86 plox? Terraforming/Planetforming and wars. - Ash - 01-06-2011 Planet Harris is currently udergoing stage 3 terraforming, which means the planet is habitable, but not stable. The Planet wont be stable until stage 3 has been completed, otherwise the process will just reverse itself until it's a baron rock again. However Harris is rumoured to be slightly anomolous. Some say the planet can't be made stable and will only ever reverse itself back to it's initial state. As far as wars go, if the Kusarians want Harris, their going to have to keep the Planetformers there intact. Firstly because it would cost them billions to put their own operations down there if they kick out the Planetformers and/or bombard the hell out of the planetside platforms. Secondly because, if Bretonia is indeed screwed, the Planetformers wont have much option but to surrender to Kusari anyway. ' Wrote:yeah, that. we turn that into a planetform base in '86 plox? Ayr was only just starting stage 1 two years before vanilla, and it's not expected to be habitable until 880 at least. Since Harris is sucking up resources its probably going to be later than that. As far as Atka goes, there's been hardly any dosh pumped into that project, so it'd be way easier for the Rheinlanders to plow right through Hudson than it would be for Kusari to through 31. |
