With the unpredictable nature of the server, the use of missiles is a gamble and a frustrating one at times, despite their great use.

Therefore in this scenario, the new weapons are introduced that also have the ability to inflict explosive damage or splash damage to a small area, likely around the target that is hit. Essentially, if that target is hit, the sub-systems will be damaged, much like a successful missile hit.

However, these weapons would have high speed and a very slow recharge rate, making them somewhat of a snipe weapon.

I am unsure if its possible, but is there a way to make traditional guns 'explosive'? If so, how would it effect things?

I've wanted ammo based weapons ever since. Gatlings!! But I guess this is not exactly to the topic, so meh.

I was thinking more like, shouldn't have Mortar have splash? Me thinks it should. Imagine the amount of friendly fire with that or even with fighter weapons with splash. Hah, do want. It would also make the combat more interesting when guns would be falling apart one by one.

I can only see it being 'controlled' if the weapon was only sold with the ship. Still not foolproof.

Aye could be entertaining in gunfights. Forcing a 'quicker' closure.

You mean like a FLAK turret on steroids? Technically, possible. Wether or not you'd want to and how big a nightmare balancing em is, is another matter.

Aye, Flak Turrets are more of a capital nature, in theory these are snub craft weapons that are balanced as such.

Well, I'm thinking of a gun that 'splashes' its energy over the hull, like a min-inferno so to speak. A shotung is one way to put it though.

simple to make.

make a rocket.

turnrate = 0

no ammo. (or maybe with - whatever)

add guneffect

/edit: to Ritsuka:

yeah mortars should have area damage.

could be simple done the same way.

only thing which sould be changed in this case to make them missles gametech sided and give them a explorange

only disad. would be that you can wasp them.

dont know if that can be solved by removing the hitbox from the missle
