HELP ME - Eppy - 01-11-2008

I just spilled water on my machine. I have dried off the keyboard and held it on its side, attacked it with a blowdryer. What do I do?

HELP ME - Othman - 01-11-2008

So ain't the keyboard working after the drying procedure?

HELP ME - Jwnantze - 01-11-2008

you should take any left over ammo you have from that anti-parental death ray and fire them at you keyboard. That should dry it out real quick!:)

HELP ME - Jinx - 01-11-2008

take the keyboard apart, dry it - and put it together again - keyboards aren t hard to reassemble. ( at least the microsoft natural keyboard is not ) drying it without taking it apart might cause problems with the contacts inside - resulting in keys not responding or even damaging the internals of the keyboard.

if it's just your keyboard then don't worry about it. It obviously works well enough for you to type your post...

Please tell me it was just a keyboard and not a laptop keyboard...

And yeah, they aren't that hard to take apart and reassemble (if you remember where the keys go)

Use a knife, pop out the keys (be careful with the spacebar) dry and clean and put back together.

HELP ME - Eppy - 01-11-2008

...that would be a laptop...in fact, I was posting as much last night, when my internet crashed on me (and what great timing!). I had THIS baby shut off and stuck over a vent, I was on the PC upstairs. Situation's all over, though, the vent dried her right out and now she's purrin' like a kitten.

HELP ME - Qunitinius~Verginix - 01-11-2008

Pepsi + Shot of Irish Whiskey + Table Spoon of Sugar = BAD. (Don't ask WHAT i was thinking, cause I wasn't).

In the end, I spilled That mixture all over my keyboard AND on my Freelancer Disc. Surprisingly enough, that was 5 months ago and everything works fine...

I just used paper towel and Disinfectant wipes.

It is actually perfectly safe to put your keyboard (batteries removed if wireless) in the dishwasher...water only hurts things when there is a current running...also don't use detergent or heat dry
