What counts as a PVP death? - Phaedrus Zeta - 01-14-2008

Well, today I was pirating traders in Sigma-13, and the first trader I tax demanded I RP in system instead of local, because its "more fun" *ahem* anyway, in a few minutes I was pursued by various law-upholding individuals, one of whom was a bounty hunter. Anyway, he was getting the better of me with his superior manuverability (I was in a Praetorian), so I decided to try a new strategy - I afterburned towards an explosive cloud segment, he followed, I switched to rear view, dropped his shields with my two Tizona del Cid turrets, and his hull was promptly blown to smithereens in two gas explosions.

Is this considered a PVP death? I definately didn't do most of the hull damage, but I was involved in it coming about, if you will..

He obviously didn't think it was because he re-engaged me at his next opportunity, and chased me all around sigma-13 and chungoku...

and what if he had just been chasing me and he died in mines/gas without me dropping his shields or even damaging him? would this count?

First of all Phaedrus this is TBH pilot Banderas. Anyway I would also like to point out that was a good idea you had. nice job! As for the death part, if you are killed in any way during a PvP fight it is considered a death. So yes he was dead. BTW I would report him. What was his name?

Yeah dying in any way in system during an engagement is a loss

I'll chime in also. Yes. That was a pvp death.

When engaged in pvp even an accidental death such as vaporizing in a sun, crashing into a planet, getting killed by an npc. Those are all considered death in a pvp battle. And the opponents of the pilot who died are considered the winner as far as all the engagment rules and system ban rules.

You're definitely in the right here, buddy.

Also, very clever indeed! I approve!

He died in battle plain and simple, if he re-engaged then thats a break of server rules.

The blood dragons use the gas clouds a lot, still funny when it happens:)
