Why not xfire? - Veygaar - 02-17-2011

I've used xfire for years now as i've been PC gaming. Just wondering why almost no one uses it and instead sides for Skype? i'd have it by now if my college didn't block it for file-sharing... Thoughts? and how many of you know the difference?

Have at it...

It's not as good as Skype? And Skype has voice?

Dunno, never liked X-fire. Looked too.. Eh, geeky if anything. And impractical.

Me and my buddies are using all of them..

Xfire has one aset...It's perfect to making screens. You don't need to upload them later one by one...One click and all screens will be updated:)

TS is perfect for voice chat, and skype...well skype is for spam channels ^^

As far as I know, out o all these only Skype has permanent "chat rooms" and is more or less versatile.

Because skype is better than xfire for various group chats.

That's my reason.

When it comes right down to it in the end, this statement is right. I've used X-fire myself with Disc, particularly back in S/D days. It wasn't a faction thing but several of us did fly in-game with X-fire on. In the long run I ended up uninstalling it and keeping Skype because it's what everyone is using, good or bad I need to keep communication lines up.
