The Time Has Come - Incindre - 02-22-2011 The time has come. I have been attempting to run the BPA for a while now in what I thought were tiny snippets of spare time. I now realize that I didn't have any spare time and am paying the price for that now, but real life does have a tendency to be like that. So unfortunately I must leave the community, I don't intend to come back, at least, not for a few years. (Don't ask if you can have my ships, already found homes for them) I have really enjoyed my time in the faction and I believe that the diplomatic and storytelling skills I have inherited during my Discovery years will be very useful in years to come. I know I haven't been the most friendly or understanding of people at times, I know I have grated on the nerves of players and admins alike in the past few years, however there are people who have inspired and helped me out and I'd just like to thank them for making my time in Discovery pretty damn awesome. THANK YOU'S: 13CentKiller ' I know you've long since moved on to other things but all the assistance you gave me with Freelancer PvP as well as the hours spent helping me to grapple with Vegas and After Effects and a number of other complicated programs, your patience and willingness to help someone who could only be described as a clueless n00b are virtues that deserve a real life medal, (I'll drop one by as I head up past you in March). Tanker ' I got my first loan from you (as Valen) and from that loan and the advice you gave me I actually managed to pay it back and then start making a profit, the chats we had while cruising through the border worlds definitely made it bearable (still can't believe that you jumped tanks, I demand video proof!). You are one of the few Discovery Angels (and not the type that give advice to newbies). I salute you! Cannon ' Perhaps my biggest thanks of all goes out to you good sir. The Discovery Machinima would never have happened unless you had taken plenty of time out of your busy schedule to help us with no-hud mods, hex editing, server set up, FLHook fixing etc. etc. Can't thank you enough and I hope that you and any family, friends you have in Christchurch are all alright, our thoughts are with you. Pieguy ' What can I say, I don't think I have ever laughed harder at Skype conversations in my life, you are completely off the wall and your voices definitely made that Machinima series we created a while back worth the effort in the eyes of the community. Glad to see that you're about to get back into the BPA swing of things; All the best for the future good man, I'll be sure to ask your advice in the future should I need to 'bring teh lulz'. Contaan ' Your character definitely sealed the BPA deal for me, Mr. Savins will be sorely missed but his antics live on in our memory (and bits of RP scattered around the place). Thank you for assisting me manage the faction for a spell there and generally being approachable about ideas etc. You are the most hilariously British American I know and for that, I take my hat off to you. Calvert ' No idea where you disappeared to man, but I really appreciated the help you gave me before you went AWOL =P I hope you're enjoying yourself wherever you are and that Australia doesn't either burn or flood your home. Lafiel Sophia ' We may not have parted on the best terms but I must say I did enjoy your exuberance for RP and it definitely increased my own desire to better my stories. Sorry about annoying you almost consistently no matter what I did! Bauer ' Almost forgot about you! Thanks for your patience in the various mad schemes I've put into play, you're one of the most versatile RP'ers I've encountered and I thank you for helping me out on occasion. Continue to be a legend my fellow Waikato man. Boss ' You is cool dude and I really appreciated the offers of help for the Machinima and stuff that you made, a pity we couldn't have made more and actually got your character to a speaking point'¦ Oh well, enjoy the air force sir! *Salutes* The folks of the Bretonia Government Chat ' Sure we argued and Skype-yelled and got frustrated and made mistakes an' all, but hey, best diplomatic experience I've had and I'm sure that I actually have learned quite a bit from it. Don't savage each other now I'm gone and remember that everyone gets an equal say! (My proposal is still available to be voted on by the way.) The folks of the ANZLAG chat (prior to my leaving) ' Ashes, Jake, Rouge and some other people who were there that I can't remember now; I can't say that I miss the spam but I do miss the hilarious arguments that ensued inside the walls of the Skype chat. Lulz were had to be sure. (Remmert's a troll) The members of the BPA ' You guys are awesome, all it would take would be a little more activity and some RP interaction and chatting on Skype and the BPA would be humming right now. I've enjoyed running the BPA these past few months and I hope that I have now created a very strong platform for you guys to build upon. Take a look at some of the RP stories etc. you'll find that if you get really involved, being in the factions is the most fun you can get on discovery (especially if a fight over crumpets is involved). Take care and for the last time GET OUT THERE AND PATROL! The people I forget ' Maybe we interacted and I can't remember, so if you are a person who I knew at the time that I knew you and unfortunately cannot be known now then take comfort in the knowledge that if then was now then I would know you and remember you and make it known that this had happened. Word. And Lastly the Admins ' Sorry for being a kn*b head, I'm sure I caused you more frustration than was really necessary'¦ I remember the time I made a post in the RP events suggestion sub forum suggesting we get a whole bunch of unlawfuls together then go and lolraid Manhattan'¦ Hopefully I have improved a wee bit since then. You have a stressful job and I wish you the best of luck with dealing with it all. MY CHARACTERS: The only character that has ever had any importance to me is Lucy Silsbury, although I will never get to complete the story arc that I had envisioned for her, I have, with all of your help, got plenty of ideas for possibly a novel or a TV series (stay tuned!) In this un-ideal RP situation, Acting Chief Commissioner Lucy Silsbury, having become somewhat of a nuisance to the Home Office, took off in the night leaving nothing but a short letter of resignation on her desk not stating the reason for her departure. The Home Office seems very keen on filling the empty spot with one of their number, a high flying Layer who suits their purposes very well. Reports occasionally surface of someone matching Silsbury's appearance appearing on stations and planets well outside of the control of the police but nothing indicates what she is doing and why. THE BPA: The BPA I leave to Pieguy, I believe that he can make a very good faction leader and he has enough experience of the faction to ensure that it remains a bastion of RP in Sirius. Garret Jax has been promoted to Deputy. If any advice is required by the BPA leaders, leave me a message on Skype, I'll check it occasionally. I love this faction and I hope that it continues to grow and provide the same awesomeness that I encountered as a once RP noob. FINAL NOTES: Sometimes I wish I could turn back the clock and spend all the hundreds of hours spent playing FL and creating RP to fit around it and do something tangible and constructive'¦ but that's just one part of me, the other says 'you have learnt a hell of a lot about people, how to deal with a variety of situations and you have created something worthwhile.' So, some regrets, but mostly good memories. Thank you Discovery, It's been a ball. Regards, Incindre The Time Has Come - frozen - 02-22-2011 toodles.
